I've got one of the pre-production models and have had it for quite some time. This is, hands down, the best "bang for your buck" mod currently available. As for ease of install...well, you'll find out when it comes time. As far as I know, just about everyone who's installed it has had problems with getting the cable off the stock ball-head. It just takes a bit of effort and ingenuity, but you'll get it!

Here's a quick vid I shot of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRVx49tN4iU

search the forums for the install, some/a lot of people had trouble getting the cable off to install it, it's just stubborn but there have been a report or two of people being two agressive and cracking it. http://forums.altimas.org/zero...-help

just be careful and you'll love it after you've got it installed. try not to waste a tank of gas driving around after you put it on cause you'll want to drive for hours after you get it installed

I have it as well. I love it, and it's definitely a difference you can feel. Boyfriend installed it for me. Everything went great before and after getting the cable off the pivot ball. He had a hell of a time with it. I'm 100% positive the enclosed directions said "gently pry". It's more like "yank the f*** out of it"

Other than that, it went smoothly. I love it. Just need a heavier knob

same here, i got mine and it's awsome. by far the best mod for the money in my mind.also just got the weighted shift knob from WC lathe Werks, it's like night and day compared to how it started, shifts like a dream. next thing for me is some amsoil syn oil for the transmission and engine.

I have the sts. It is awsome. Totally worth it. Took me about 15 to 20 minutes to install. Not hard at all.

It is how the car should have felt from the factory.

...although I'd like to point out that it's not a short shifter, but rather a short throw shift kit. It only changes the length of your throws, not the height of the shifter. Due to the relatively complex engineering of our reverse-lockout mechanism, the feasibility of an actual short shifter is nil.

STS best mod that you can get, i dont know if i could ever drive stick without one now.

ball joint gives some trouble take your time follow the guides that on the site. the hammer works and just ease it off. dont get out of control with the hammer, be smart and make sure you find the place where it lifts the joint off the ball evenly
