As seen here:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBay...%3AIT

or the one without the separate dump pipe:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBay...11537

Any quality/fitment issues? I saw float had problems with their elbow peice (O2 sensor and something else also), but anyone have these in particular?

Any ideas of either pipe would interfere with LHD components?

thanks,

float (ryan) has the second one pictured there, and has problems with the cat flange being at the wrong angle... but he still seems to think its a good deal.

it will give you the same problem as running an SR downpipe/dumppipe combo because basically all it is, is an SR downpipe/dumppipe welded together in the middle (no more flange)... Its a good deal if you didn't have to pay shipping from Australia, and if there weren't such incredibly cheap downpipe/dumppipe combos on ebay.

I do have the second one. The first one hadn't even been invented yet so lucky you! Anyway, mine bolted right up and I have no clearance problems. There were 2 slight problems, but were corrected easily. The first was the size of the O2 sensor. It's quite small and it took me a while to figure out that I needed to use one from a Z31. The other is that the oval flange on the other end isn't lined up quite the same as everyone else's so your test pipe will be turned wrong. All I did was cut and reweld my test pipe. Took me 15/20min. I got mine off of eBay when they were still selling them on the US eBay auctions.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of how it looks on the underside? Also when you bought it was it a CA18 SPECIFIC pipe or a CA/SR combo like the current ones?

Because of the SR DP and elbow I had to really tug on the exhaust just to bolt up and then the exhaust would rattle against my car..I eventually just put the stock CA dp/elbow back on :'(

If it sits where the stock one sits then I'll definately order it, if it's the same as my current setup then I'd rather spend the $400 or so canadian on a new custom clutch

I believe it was CA/SR, but don't quote me on that. I bought it over a year ago. I'll try and get a picture of it, but I don't know when as it's raining here and it's not supposed to quit for a few days. This one is DEFINATLY not rubbing on the frame rail. It's in basically the stock location.

Any idea about why this occured? Is the CA OEM cat flanged differently than the OEM SR cat?

Odd that you had to modify the test pipe Ryan. I have full SR exhuast myself (O2 housing, dp, tp, and catback) and I had 0 issues installing it...

I have drooled over that first one for soooo long. Me likey.

I think it has everything to do with the dumpipe. I have a feeling that the aussies didn't have a cat and the flange is different because of that. That's just a hunch though and is totally unfounded.

OK, so I was wrong. It was just a shot in the dark. I have no idea why the flange isn't aligned correctly.

Maybe the test pipe/cat you were using was actually for a different application? Possibly? (not to insult your intelligence or anything, but if it was some "ebay test pipe" the seller could have just sent the wrong thing and not known or something). Was the flange a little off or 45/90/180 degrees off?

I'm pretty sure it's the downpipe. Unless my Apex N1 isn't right, but I seriously doubt that. And I don't think it's the test pipe because I bought 2 different ones. The first one I bought I screwed up because I assumed it was steel and when went to weld it, it turned out to be aluminium and I runied it. then I bought another one and it fit exactly the same way the other did. So it's either got to be the cat-back or the downpipe, and I seriously doubt it's the cat-back.

Japanese cops are hip to that, they will tap on it to listen for a hollow sound. They are still a step behind though. I run a holesaw down through and slide a pipe down through so it's open but doesn't sound that way when you tap it.

When you tap my cat it sounds hollow, but it is full.. it still has that casing on the outside, so thats maybe why.
