Anyone Have the Alpine DVA-9965?

My Alpine CDA-7998's phantom face is starting to crap out and it's out of warranty which means I'm shopping for a new HU. One thing for sure, motorized alpine units are "crap" or it's probably just my luck. Anyway, I'm looking at the DVA-9965 and it's priced at about $1,100. Thing is, it seems like "NOBODY" have this HU yet, or atleast there is no online reviews for it yet.

One thing that pisses me off is alpine used to release say the mother of all HU's then keeping the cosmetics the same, takes out features like DVD playback, and all this crud, and have a few HU's available for a more reasonable price. I don't need the 1/4 of the functions but there isn't another HU that is the same minus some features so looks like I'll be stuck with this HU.

Anyone have any other recommendations and or other similar brands? I have a lot of AI-Net stuff so I tend to want to stick with Alpine but if there's a better deal on a nicer HU, I'll ditch alpine. Thanks Guys!

Alpine showed the 9965 at the 2005 and 2006 CES but as far as I know, they have not shipped it.
