Koukicody posted this pic awhile back in a "gold wheels" thread:

I went online, and I found that these are not listed on the Sportmax website, although EdgeRacing.com does carry them in a set of very attractive bundles.

For $750 shipped with a set of 16x8 +15's with new, mounted-and-balanced Falken 512's, that seems like a good deal to me.

Anyone have them? Anyone have any pics of them on an S-chassis car?

I know the 002's are slightly more than flush, sticking out a little bit at 15x8+0. Konig Rewinds, at 15x7+0 are perfectly flush on an S13, and so I'm thinking that these 16x8 +15's are probably also pretty close to perfect.

i like them, they remind me of the oem 280zx wheels. i also searched for some to get specs and more pics, found a set on ebay for pretty cheap but im not ready to be spending money on wheels yet.

Yeah, that's why I like them, they're exactly like the old Z wheels only brand new, cheap, and in much better sizes.

Unless they suddenly start selling Rewinds in 16x8+15 with tires for $800......I'm almost certainly buying a set of these.

I'm sure they're anchors, but I drive an NA KA24DE automatic any-damn-way, and I really only drive it to work. As long as they don't each weigh 25lbs, I couldn't care less. I'll buy nice light wheels when I need nice light wheels.

that's awesome, they do look like the oldschool 280zx wheels...

Don't they have the Rewinds in 16x8 +0?

I thought it was only 14x7 +0 and 15x7+0

Could be wrong though.

16x8+0 will stick out a little bit on an S13 though, and I'd like to avoid having to do any fender pulling if I can avoid it.

If I'm going to d!ck around with my fenders, I'd rather just buy wider wheels and run flares (which I will likely do eventually anyway, probably when I do all the rest of my bodywork)

EDIT: I just checked Konig's website. The Rewinds indeed only come in 14x7+0 and 15x7+0. There is a clone wheel out there called the "Fast Forward" however, and for all I know, those might come in 16".

I do not have these wheels

But I do have 002's 15x8 +/-0, I would say that these in 16x8 +15 would fit nicely with about 1.5* camber and a roll of the fenders (not a pull).

Let me know how it works out.

^^So you think I'd have to roll the fenders?

Bear in mind that I will NOT have coils or adjustable-ANYTHING suspension when attempting to mount these up.

For the record, to contradict my own earlier statement, I did find some websites selling 16x7+0 Rewinds, so that might be the smarter option, we'll see.

Regarding your diamonds......I'm saving those until my bodywork/flares are done. The beauty of diamonds is that you can get them in crazy sizes without spending a lot of cash, making them perfect for running with flares.

In more pedestrian sizes however, there's more selection out there and I'd rather have something else.

Hash, not to link to another forum, but the "other" site has a group buy going for 4 lug 16X8+0 002's. You can get gold center for $499 shipped, or red or black centers for $399 shipped.

You may have to do some rolling, but thats a pretty good price.

Ok, so I did a little research on the fitment of these things.

Stock S13 SE wheels are 15x6 + 40mm

The 501's are 16x8 + 15mm

So I went and checked out this offset calculator:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

It says that the inner clearance of the 501's is IDENTICAL to S13 SE wheels. That makes me pretty comfortable.

It says the outside edge is another 50mm farther out, but I think that sounds like it'll be about flush.

Does this sound about right?

For the record, the 002's in 15x8 +0 have 15mm MORE inner clearance than stock with 65mm in outer edge extension.

The fact that the wheels are 16" instead of 15" shouldn't matter, as you just decrease the sidewall thickness and the rotational diameter remains the same.

What size tire is everyone running on their 002s? Should I go with 225's or 205s?

Dude....it's a SPORTMAX product.

It wasn't like everyone and their mother wasn't going to buy them anyway. You'll still have them first.

There are already a few hundred xB's running around with them, so it isn't like they aren't already out there.

You could still find them online....I saw some the other day while browsing around. I wouldn't mind getting them for my coupe...but they don't have them in 17".

hmmm, ive never seen the 501's in 16" but it is listed on their site. be aware that it might be a special order from sportmax, and might take some extra time. I would contact sportmax directly and see whats up with that size, cuz ive only seen those in the 15". I think they would look great on a 240, and im still debating on if i will get them or not for my Miata. gotta see how much im gonna get for my badass seat first

good luck with it Hash

Why does everyone have a boner with being unique. You can't be unique in this

world anymore. Period. Anyway I run 225's on my 002's on my s14, I'd go with 225

....on the other hand...if I am able to get rid of the NEW 17" tires that have, maybe this may not be so bad after all.
