this is going to sound dumb, but the basis for the question is based on that kids mods.

Do all BRM's sound that way?

I don't have my BRM on the car yet (stupid winter happened before I could put it on), but yeah, the Hotshot header and the intake will change the exhaust note. Also, running with or without a resonator will change the tone a bit.

I know Greg has recommended a resonator when using the BRM exhaust in conjunction with an aftermarket header, but could just be for us old guys who don't like their cars too loud.

the reason I ask is because I thought BRM's were supposed to be relatively quiet, but it sounded kinda loud. I didn't know if I was hearing his CAI, or maybe the header. I've heard the effects of changing the length of a resonator before (on my SE-R). I was just surprised to hear that tone come out of the BRM.

Well i have a BRM exhaust installed w/ 22in resonator and Dual tips.

Its the only performance mod i have right now and its a bit quiter then you would hear in the video. The tone is also different, mine sounds deeper.

But the in-car vid sounds almost the same at WOT (except for the rattaling which is his B&M shifter), just a bit deeper tone. At idle, all you hear is a quiet rumble.

Its enough for you to hear it, but not loud enough to turn faces 1/2 mile away. Hearing other people's exhausts, id consider mine the most quiet but deepest sounding.

oh, and where's my dollar?

face - You live like 10 miles from me, you're welcome to stop by and see the one on my convertible anytime.

And yes, that clip sounds way off.

Hard to capture sound accurately in that manner, you have to hear it in person.
