Anyone have Remote start

Hello I just purchased a 97 240 auto,and I'm looking for an alarm.I have a friend who can get me a deal on a new viper alarm w/ remote start for $350,it also has the 2way remote.I was just wanting to know if anyone on here has remote start,and if they like it for the money. Or should I just get a regular alarm? Either way I want something w/ the two way remote. Thanks

Remote start is a pretty cool feature, it's really nice to have during winter... if you're gonna get it make sure you get them to hook up the heater/fan as well when the car is remote started, cause you'd wanna be able to defrost windows and heat up the car before you get in it... think you can get A/C runnin after remote start as well, but you'd have to look into that.

make sure that with this alarm, it stays armed after remote starting it... otherwise i wouldn't bother gettin it

Yea, I think remote start's a nice feature, but as ayjay said, the key features are ability to heatcooland stay "protected"any decent one should have those.

I got the Avital 4300 remote start security. real nice, real smooth.i got a buddy that installs and he prefered my one-way over the viper two-way which was the same price. the Viper just had a lot of problems he said.

i paid $350 for my 4300, and i found it on froogle for $169, commi bestbuy!

here is the 2 way avital 4400 for $194. drop $100 on an install and you save a lot of money!

Well I deceided that since my car is garaged mostly,I wouldn't really benefit from the remote start that much.I got the viper 690 two way on thursday.I didn't do too much research on the whole deal.My buddy works for a local sound store.I got the viper two way,and window roll up's for $320 installed.I don't feel too bad about the price.Thanks for the input guys
