was the car originally equipped with hicas, and are you sure hte pump you got was for a KA and not a CA? i.e. does it bolt up but the lines don't bolt up?
if the lines don't match, and you had hicas, you may need the 2ws KA24DE lines, at least for the compression side (from pump to rack, not from rack to resevoir or pump to resevoir), and you definately will need to get the little extension pipe that goes on a KA24DE 2ws pump
at least, when I swapped in my CA motor, I had a SOHC KA (no hicas obviously), and when I put in the DOHC lines and the CA motor+ CA pump, at first it didn't quite fit, we could force it but it wasn't good.. then my friend noticed this extra little bar on the KA24DE pump and we put that on and it made it fit.
see here, its part 49587.
If you compare the following you can see how 2ws and 4ws are diff, at least for KA-equipped vehicles, and since you've still got lines from a KA vehicle if this is the case..
pump assy:4ws2ws
P/S lines:4ws2ws
incidentally all that crazy plumbing there is why I plan to figure a way to hack 96+ Z32 electric HICAS onto my S13 rather than trying to add on the hydraulic stuff
