anyone have issues with s14 locks? My driver side door won't unlock.

Mine have always acted kind of weird, but recently my driver door completely locked up. It is not able to be opened via the key, inside switch, or my last attempt, using a hanger stuck down the door panel ( I cant get the panel off with the door locked) and hooked onto the unlock mechanism pulling it up as hard as I can.

I'm stumped what to do now. Anyone ever have an issue like this or any idea what I can do?

When I try to unlock with the lever by the handle it just snaps back to locked position.

My 90 does that once in a blue moon but its opposite. I will try to lock it and it pops unlocked again. I keep doing it like 6-8 times and it finally locks. This has only happened 2-3 times in the last year so I never really looked into it.

Maybe the power lock actuator is on its way out (or in your case, already failed)

Isn't there a fuse for power door lock? Then you can disable it altogether until you get it fixed.

Im having this problem now..stuck in lock position and cannot get drivers door open..what did you end up doing to get it open?

This is common on nissans for some reason. I had this happen on my trunk lock on my s14 and my tailgate lock on my frontier.

You need to buy some graphite spray for locks and take off your door panel. Take your key and put it away for now because if you keep tweaking on it you will break it and be sorry.

Now that your door panel is off make sure your window is up. If you look inside your door you should be able to spot your door handle as well as some steel bars that are connected to levers by plastic clips.

What happened is one of your levers is stuck, specifically the one for lock and unlock. I would recommend spraying them all and trying to manipulate them by hand. I forget which one is which but you should feel one that is froze and will not move. Use common sense so you won't break anything by pushing to hard. You'll see which one is for the lock.

Also check to see if any of the steel rods got disconnected from the levers and mechanisms.

Worst case scenario the power lock motor is dead but I don't think that would stop you from using your key or unlocking the door manually.

i had a similar problem when i just got my s14. but when i got inside the door i found the the mechanism had fallen appart in the door. or somebody took it apart. i found all of the parts and put it back together and it works fine now.

My door was stuck shut and couldnt get the door panel off...will lots of pull and push on door panel i was able to get it of with minor damage..easier to fix than get another panel...all levers were hooked up..it was just the lock sticking..where the lock bar hooks into the lock was not releasing all the way so i just pulled up on it then bent it over and it opened right up. Gonna put some grease on it for sure..Thanks for all the recommendations!
