Anyone have HIDs for their B16?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hey so I basically lurk around here but I'd like to start posting more. But anyway, I've been looking at Xenon HID headlights and foglights for my B16 and I can't decide what kind to get, and how much I should be paying.

If anyone has successfully bought a pair of LEGAL HIDs for their car, can you tell me where you got them and what brand they are? I don't want any converter kits or cheap lights with blue outsides cause I'm not trying to get a ticket every night I drive.

Thanks fellas

Well the issue is "legal" isn't it? You basically can't get legal aftermarket HIDs, as far as I know. They have to come from the factory with auto leveling.

People do get away with them though most of the time.

I know you can buy them and get them realigned so they're not blinding and are the same as the factory ones.

The "illegal" ones are the converter kits that scramble the light, or the blue coated bulbs that shine out pure blue light

legal or illegal, BESTDUBS.COM or (718)205-5111 has HID systems, their located in Queens NY. Prices for all HID systems are around $120 (2 ballasts & 2 bulbs + wiring). I bought my HIDS from them for my B16 & my 98 Altima, I never had a problem with them, and they also hook u up with a warranty. . I'm sure if you go with a 8k or I think 10k system your safe from getting pulled over.

If you're talking about just putting hid bulbs in your stock housing don't do it or I will kill you.they can aligned but it still blinds other people. If your gonna do a hid install do a projector retrofit and it look so much better.

Hey man, Hows UCONN If I was still dating my ex, id' be up there every few weeks and It'd be cool to see another spec up there.

On a side note, there is a company that sells very high quality HIDs for 160$ per kit I wouldn't go any higher than 6k due to lighting reasons though. 8k if you REALLY have too, but absolutely not higher.

I do have HID's on my b16. I have bosch 6000k kit. Now your question on legality goes like this.... It is illigal to have any aftermarket HID's in a reflector based headlight. This scatters the light and blinds oncomming traffic. If you want legal hid's you need a projector retrofit in your headlights... but that could cost alot extra. factory hid's on cars already have a prjector houseing in the headlight. The "blue" bulbs you were talkin about are just tinted blue. they are standard halogen and have no increased light output. Any tinted light other than amber is illigal on your car. i wouldnt worry about getting tickets because of your headlights though, many cars have them and cops dont even bother. If you are realy worried I would go wit a 4300K kit. The light emited is pure white. 6000k is and "iceberg blue", 8000k is a slightly darker blue. 10000k is a deep dark blue. and 12-13000k is a dark purple.
