Im working on my 240SX Stock currently and had a blown 75A fuse in the power distribution box that has been replaced with a maxi fuse because it was melted to the holder... which was fun to carve out... my seatbelt systems stopped working, and none of my flashers are working either. Drivers side power window stopped working also. it will go up and down with direct wires to the motor but that is suck a fun thing to do on a regular basis. I got tired of trying to trace wiring a few days ago so i got out there and striped the interior so theres no carpet in the inside of the car and most panels are off the drivers side of the car since the main harness is located on the side. i was working on a troubeshouting guild and it said there was a bad ground between the seat belt control unit and the drivers side rail but i cant find any ground. Any suggestions on where to start looking? and yes all the systems went out at once and the alternator was replaced earlier this week.

Howdy: Ref the ground locations. You have several, starting under the driver's seat, one just under the wire connection on the driver's side seat belt retractor, and the most important one for the flashers, near the driver's side shock tower. When I undid that ground connection, my tach quit as well as the flashers. Reconnected it and voila, both worked again. Continuing further back, there is another ground on the rear hatch lid (or rear trunk lid I assume).

There are a couple under the dash, behind the heater controls. Finding that one with a full dash installed I bet is a bear. My dash was out when I found that one.

Help? Note. There is no ryhme or reason to what works and what doesn't with grounds as I learned when I took off the ground on the driver's side shock tower and the tach and flashers quit.
