Anyone have ant ideas how to fix my rusting hatch one and forall??

I have a 92 240sx hatch and i took my wing off as soon as i got it becouse i new even though there wass no visible rust there was rust under the wing. I took it off and low and behold we have rust. Has anyone ever fix theres themselves or found a good write up somewhere on how to fix it. Mine has not reached the bend yet but it will soon if i dont fix it.Thanx

sand it down to bare metal, not rust, and fiberglass it. if your really cool, weld some metal in the holes instead of fiberglass. or if your freaking sweet, just find a wingless hatch.

Is it surface rust or has it gone through the skin?

Surface rust can be taken care of with Naval Jelly and a light sanding. Rust-through is going to take welding, fiberglass patching or, a better choice, a new spoiler-less hatch.

Do you guys typically see many used (rustless) hatches for sale?

I am looking at a '90 240 with the same issue, only the spoiler (if you even want to call it that) is still attached and there is some rust visible. I'm sure if I take it off there will be more rust waiting to say hi.

What kindof fiberglass are we talking about? Is it hard to work with. How would i use it? Like Bondo or....?
