Wash it in the shade and dry immediately.

I would recommend microbfiber to avoid marring or scratching. It's the method of washing that saves you from waterspots.

Just be sure your fully in the shade, don't let the sun dry the car etc.

Additionally, if your still having problems it could be due to the water that your using. Hard water tends to cause spotting. There is little you can do with that aside from investing in a softening system (Serious).

Here's my car wash process:

1. Rinse, hose off all lose dirt and crap2. Small amount of wash mix3. Tires + Wheels4. New wash mix for body of car5. Wash TOP -> BOTTOM, meaning roof first, then windshields, hood, top of trunk, then move on to the sides6. Rinse again7. Dry

Tips: If you have spotting on your car it could possibly be the car detergent, meaning a better rinse is req.

If it is sunny out, rinse + wash one panel at a time, always making sure to rinse fully after each panel is washed to prevent soap stains, then dry after.

Wasn't there an old song that went something like:"You only own a black car once..."

Still, for as much of a pain in the a$$ as it is, I'm glad I got the colour I did......I wonder how Batman washes his ride? lol

you can try and add a water filter to your outside hose and that would save you from the water spots.

well if not, then instead of using a spray nozzle, take that off and just use it straight and wash from top down. that way you wont have little spots on your car.

if all else fails, then wash it quick and not in direct sunlight.

if that fails, then clay bar it

I live in SA too and i know what you're talking about. I drive a winter forest coupe so you cant really see the spots if it would happen but I have a black dodge ram quad cab and you can definatly see water spots if you dont dry it fast enough. I take my coupe to the wash tub mainly because i got a years free carwashes when i bought it. LOL they do a really good job so my coupe always looks new. Id say wash it later in the day when it cools down. 100 deg of dry heat never works well for washing a car.

cool, so i washed it again today and wiped it down with a microfiber drying cloth, and there were no spots after it had dried. but later on during the day some spots came back on the car, could it be something with the paint or is it me?

prolly not I find that some times water gets in the side mirrors and drip after you have dried. In the door handles some times water gets around there and around the weather seal that only seems to come drip out over opening and closing the doors. All I can say is there are parts on our cars that like to retain a bit of water and drip just when you think you are all done.

yeah i noticed that, i tried to get as much water from the door handles as i could. i guess i'll have to wipe the car down with a damp cloth before i go out haha

well what i usually do is clean it dry first, its expected that there will always leave a mark somewhere. so once it gets dry, i get a bottle spray filled with water and spray a small amount of water to the dry spot and wipe it clean removing the marks. that solves most of the problems of the dry water marks.then check it all over again before waxing your baby.

you might have water spots from the previous washes, now its time to clay bar your car and those spots should be gone the next time you wash you car....

Another tip for those of you that are experiencing the water coming out of the mirrors when you wash it.

Fold the mirrors in and dry as much as you can. If you have access to a air compressor blow some air in there to get it all out. Same goes for the gas cover (you can just pop that and dry the inside).

After the car is completely dry, try using some quick detailer spray w/ a microfiber cloth.

Im still happy with the black... its much easier if you have a garage (i share one)...

Batman doesnt wash his ride... Robin does... hes got a skin-tight suit made of microfiber and he rubs himself on the ride!
