Thanks guys... I actually used to be on here several years back, but just didn't have time to keep up. Now I'm trying to find as many Q-related resources as possible, and noting that there really isn't too much out there!
EDIT: Oh yah, about maximum wheel/tire fitment... what you can fit really depends on several factors:- are you willing to roll your fenders, and by how much?- how much camber would you want to run?- is fender flaring a consideration?
The last one will usually, of course, require loads more bodywork and a new paint job, so most people would probably answer no to that.
So assuming you're willing to roll the fender lips flat, and even pull them a little bit (as is the case with my car), then you could potentially fit up to a 9.5" wide wheel up front with an offset of about +5mm. In the back, you can safely step up to an 11" wide wheel at +15mm offset. This is considering an 18" wheel, and running stretched tires (in the case of a 9.5"/11" combo, I'd run 225s up front, and 245-255s out back). If you go up in diameter-say, to a 19" wheel-then you should figure on upping the offset about 5 to 8mm for every inch increase in diameter just to account for the clearance needed for the increased overall diameter. Oh yah, and this would require running about the same amount of camber as I am running in the back....which I must admit I have not had the time to measure yet, but I estimate to be at about -6 deg or so...
If you don't want to run such "extreme" amounts of camber in the back, then you will have to go a little more conservative on the rear offset... figure on adding at least 17 to 20mm more offset to the figures above to keep the rear wheels under the fender lips without cambering.
Hmmmm... maybe I shoulda put this info in a new wheel-specific post huh? >HAHAHA<
