I need one of each to find a viable US replacement for the OEM unit. Im fairly confident that Koni or someone makes a unit I just dont have the stock ones out of the car.

If you have them laying around and dont mind sending them to me I'll pay shipping and return them when done!

Just because a shock/strut insert will physically fit doesn't mean the 4 valving parameters are close.

If you study the early Q FSM you will see specifications for F and R shocks [written in shock designers terms].

Used shocks [even 1-2 year old units] will have progressively degraded so hard to guess what brand new specs might have been.

Make sure any you send your friend self expand fast in like 2 seconds.

A viable aftermarket solution for the US market would be wonderful Corey. I know a few people on here recently replace OE with KYB SR's, but I think like myself, you tend to just throw the old ones out. Hopefully someone still has them!

While they were expensive, the KYB SR's are very very high quality replacements. I would have to say that I have never seen such a dramatic change in a car, that includes BMW's that had upgrades to Bilstein and my Z going to KYB. For about $700 your problem is solved without inventing anything, contact onetongarage to get in on the next shippment. I called KYB, Koni and a several othres and there is just nothing. My mechanic was so sure he could get somethign he spent 2 hours on the phone calling very Nissan/Infiniti parts place he knew.

The KYB SR Specials fit perfectly and are just amazing.

o.k. i'll just call it quits then.

psssshhh. Im not calling warehouses who look in catalogs. Im sending the units to Vogtland who is one Koni NA largest importers and very close with them. If Richard cant find a unit then I'll give up, otherwise Im still on the hunt for 1 front and 1 rear strut.

I didn't do any looking in anyplace. One check to Onetongarage and a few weeks later presto chango, new struts/shocks. Good luck, let people here know if youi Koni decides to make these for us, it would have been nice to get them directly, but there was no hassle, Onetongarage can hook you up after you give up on this, which I predict you will.

The only way i'll give up is if nothing is available. Which might be the case, but there will be alot of happy campers if I can source struts domestically.
