When I first replaced the clutch for my 91 240, it didn't have any squeeking problems. If it did, it only did so for a split second. Now, pretty much every time I go to start up the car and no matter if I rev in gear or not it squeeks very loud from the clutch area. If I sit there and rev it for awhile the squeeking will go away. But if I shut the car off for a matter of minutes and come back, it squeeks more again and I have to sit there and rev it or just drive it normal for it to go away. The faster the motor is turning the faster you can hear the squeeks. Any idea's whats going on? I don't think it should be affecting anything, but damn it's loud and annoying.

i had a ranger that had a bad throwout bearing that made the squealing noise your describing, almost like a scraping noise...

Yeah exactly. ****, maybe I should've put grease on it. But it already had some on it.... not enough maybe?? But if you think about it, the throw-out bearing isn't engaged while in neutral. So why would it be squeeking even if I rev while im not in gear?

Now that i think about it I think mine might have been doing the same thing. But now that my clutch has gone out i guess that i will be fixing the squeeking.

correct me if im wrong.i think you need to resurface your flywheel or get a new one.for example when you get new brake pads and you of course put em on but dont do anything to the rotors(new ones, resurface) its sqeeks like if it needed pads right.i had the same problem so i went with a better condition flywheel cuz i couldnt find a shop that resurface.so yea
