I'm looking for a Ap Engineering PowerFC for my Ca18det. I'm getting tired of trial and error with Rom's.

Im thinking of the same too.

Can Power FC eliminate the need of MAF, or is it designed to work with MAF?

Also, does it have any idle control function like the AEM EMS?

The CA18DET Power FC uses MAF, never had a MAP sensor version (D-Jetro or whatever its called) released.

thats not a horrible price. i paid around $900 (including EMS shipping from some asian country, dont remember which country) for mine used, not a scratch on it i wouldnt balk at paying an extra hundred or so for it to be new in teh box.

I had one for a short while and it' OK. I didn't like the tuning maps, as you could only see a small portion of them at a time. But there is a program out there by a company in New Zealand that allows you to tune it via laptop. That would make it much easier.

I would link it here, but I'm at work and don't have the website handy. I'll try and remember to post it later.

last time i checked (months ago)that kiwi company's softwaqre didnt work for CAs (yet)if you have a link for a working one, that would be awesomebut where do you get the adapter cable? directly from apex?

well I've never felt safe hooking up the 1000$ computer up to the wiring harness I had. plus I never got any dyno time. pretty much I just want her to have a good home where she'll be treated proper, instead of sitting in a box in my closet. btw yes it is the one with the commander

anyone actually ever seen the boost control kit for the powerfc? even google fails me, and only brings up AVC-Rs

i know it uses the same unit to control the boost, but does it have a seperate controller with buttons and/or screen like the avc-r, or does it just use the powerfc controller?

The boost control kit for the PFC, just uses the actuator that the AVC-R uses. The controller runs the actuator.

Yes it does...

It's listed under SR20, but it say's that the CA18DET is one of the motors it works for.

No, you'd have to call Apex probabally. I don't think it's any different for the one for the SR, and those shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.
