I'm trying to figure out whether or not the second cat i took off my car is a replacement (aka real cat) or just the OEM hollow. Any help with what to look for would help, and if pics arent available, any info on what to look for to tell the difference, thanks.

So are you asking if you have a resonator or a catalytic converter? Why don't YOU post a picture of what you have.

aw come on don't be that way :P it has the standard catcon honeycombs inside, and heres a pic of it next to the stock 95 REAL catcon (which is on top).

Sounds like you took off the resonator sir.

In order the exhaust goes like this:

Cat converter
Resonator
Muffler

A normal catalytic converter looks like this. Inside of it there will be a honeycomb type thing. Very distinctive.

A normal resonator looks like this. It should be pretty hollow.

I probably ninja'd you, but i think that i took off the cat, check the above pic.

also i know the normal exhaust order, the 1995 has some wierd configuration though from the factory where normally where a cat would be is something that looks like a cat but is a resonator, except in my case i see actual honeycombs (and it doesnt look stock)

the order of the 95 to 98 exhaust is like this. manifold, cat, resonator (looks identical to the cat from my old 89 s13), resonator (factory cat back), muffler. the one you have listed is for sure not stock. people think that they are hollowed cat's and then replace them with real ones... and also i think they get the idea because of obdII. but yours is for sure not stock (the second one)

thanks, I was pretty sure of it because of the way the piping was setup and because of how different it looks from factory piping, but I wanted an opinion from someone who knows about the whole resonator that looks like a cat deal.
