Got my 2.5S sedan 2 weeks ago and Im still struggling with the brakes. They are SO ultra sensitive I need to press down very lightly to stop. When a test drove a different one before I bought mine I didnt have any such issues. Is it possibly in need of an adjustment or is this normal?

the one you test drove was probably a demo?

I think it would be a good thing that the brakes are so sensitive. Mine was like that too when I first got it, but slowly is fading as the break pads wear down.

Yours will probably do the same. no adjusting should be needed.

What kind of car did you have before your altima?

It may have something to do then with the way that certian cars feel. Coming from a Ford, my brakes felt so incredibly sensitve on my altima coupe, but that's just the way that certian cars feel. The new Honda Accords are even more sensetive than your altima!

I don't believe anything is wrong - it just seems like something you need to get used to. American cars, in my opinion, have always had somewhat of a 'loose' brake pedal.

I have a crazy time with them. I drive my trailblazer, which has really spongy brakes compared to the altima, everyday and when i drive the altima, i about throw my wife through the windshield!!LOL

Thanks im glad im not the only one. I would have thought 2-3 weeks driving back and forth to work everyday and Id be used to it by now. I still have to like be carefull when slowing down that the car doesnt jerk. Especially like when trying to come to a slow full stop. I have to press so damn lightly to come to a nice gradual stop.

I agree the brakes are very sensitive..My brakes are better now since the dealership replaced all the calipers and pads under warranty due to a loud noise coming from the pads.I think Nissan may have issued some type of notice regarding the brakes and thats why they replaced mine.
