215 width tires won't fit on a 8" wheel, they're too small. Your tire shop should be able to indicate that. Tires get wheel width ranges - the stock 215 bridgestones we have can fit anywhere from a 6" wheel to a 7.5" wheel, with the maunfacturer standard size of 7".

The 215 would fit perfectly on a 7".

Consider getting new tires - the stock turanzas are garbage. If you get the 8" wheel, you can push up to 245 width or possibly higher.

I figure out to tire conversion. it say 235/50/17 is exactly same as 215/55/17 diameter 26.3

Do you think it can fit to 17x8 wheel?Don't you think wider tire get more gas ?

dont you think wider tire get more gas?

are you asking if a wider tire gets better gas mileage? if so, no wider tires do not get better gas mileage, actually its slightly worse, more rolling resistance and rotational weight.

Im not sure where the 235 width question came from...but yes, the 235 will fit perfectly on your 8" wheel - it will even fit perfectly on your OE 7.5" wheel.

And scandanavian is right, you technically get lower gas mileage, but better grip of the road...

If you want more grip on the road, a 235 is better than 215...

You can use the stock 7.5" wheel with 235's...

If you are getting a new wheel, you could get away with +40 on a 8" rim....look around though, there are a lot of people that discuss what offsets to get..

You mean 17x8 with +40 offset is ok?We're talking about 17x8 rim, not 18x8 rim, right?thanks

17" or 18" doesn't make a difference - you would just change your sidewall ratio for that. It's the 8" width that affects your offset - you should be fine.
