no ive leveled themas far as how much shows on the ground it shows for about 10 yards then it just fades and i can see the ring on trees almost directly above meis there a way to tighten the beam?

also the last few days ive had a problem with one of my lights coming onweve had alot of rain lately so im thinking there might be a little moisture on the connector but im having to turn them on and off atleast 3 or 4 times before it comes on and living on a military base its not good to have a light bulb out

your ballast are going bad...dont flicker your lights on and off constantly it will damage the ballast..mmm also turn your lights on after a min you turn the car on(longer bulb life) as for lighting ,i believe its the h.i.d's that are cheap(quality)...check a1motorsports.com their really good h.i.d's and a good price too oh and life time warranty(dont cut any wires it will void warranty)..

heres a pic of my 6000k o-nex h.i.d's..

i would also suggest getting a different temp. bulb, somewhere between 6k and 8k like most OEM HID's. correct me if i'm wrong but once you go higher than 8k or so the light output decreases (6k-8k white-blue, 9k~11k blue, 12k+ purple-pink).

You need some projectors or at least hella h4 housings to get any light out of them. Those ebay housings wont do s***. Do a real hid projector retrofit and you will be wayy more happy.

For the love of god people. Stop putting cheap hid retrofit kits in your h4 housings. All you are doing is blinding everyone on the road.

See how the light is going all over the place? Even into the camera? There's no organized pattern. The light is just going all over the place.

The light output is terrible. Sure they're "bright" but look at where the light is on the road. it's spotty with a terrible pattern. If you want a hid lamp, you gotta spend around 1000 bucks on real projectors and find a way to mount them correctly.

Here's a proper hid setup. Taken right from our own tech pages.

This is a TSX projector fitted into Silvia projector headlamps. check out the razor sharp cut off on the wall. As well as the the output being on the ground and not up in the air:

if you want better light output for little cost, get a e code h4 housing, and put some high quality Hella or Osram H4 bulbs. You will get incredible light output and a razor sharp cut off assuming you aimed them correctly.

it sucks... their really isn't much option (at all really) for H4 housing owners as far as HID's go.

Let's face it, HID's weren't really meant for anything without projectors.

Unless you're willing to do some retrofitting, you won't get a nice cut off like this

and the link to this write up: zerothread/254025In this case, the user used TSX projectors... they're awesome projectors. My buddy did the retrofit on his silvia front projectors. Its pretty cool to see the distinct line bounce up and down on the freeway walls/ dividers

Yes us people with H4's are pretty limited. I can take a picture of my halogen H4 setup when my car is back on the road. I'll see if I can get some high quality 4300k bulbs too.

PS: After reading my post my tone comes off as negative. It is definitely not!

Dude you can do a NICE retrofit for under 500 bux if your patient. I got some FX35 lights for 15$ each. If I go OEM bulb/ballast it will be under 300 for everything. If I go aftermarket it could be like 100, 110 max.

Dude

Save your money after market HIDS are far from perfect no matter how much you pay. Even cars built with HIDS have issues.

Wait a few years till they get all the bugs out.

Spend your money on your engine and suspension, look at http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com for some real world advice.

Ciao

So true I have projections with H4 and they are bright and clear as all get out.

HIDS are still to new to work and be reliable.

[QUOTE=Woods Crasher]This is a TSX projector fitted into Silvia projector headlamps.QUOTE]

like you said they were done on A Silvia headlight, not on a 240 pop up headlight when you show me a properly fitted one ill try to do it too.it will come cheap to me since i can get the projectors for free from unwanted single headlights at my brother in-law's body shop.
