hi everyone,

I have been looking for a flexplate for a CA18DET swap that's in my 1990 240sx. Does anybody have one or knows where I can find one? I have been looking everywhere but no luck so far. It doesn't have to be new. Just in good condition. Some idiot drove my car and managed to shred some of the teeth somehow so now, it slips. Thanks a lot for your help.

Your really running an automatic CA18? Never seen that yet here stateside. Umm I would call some of the JDM importers, I doubt many will have it in stock, but can get it.

Auto Ca18 eh, Hmm. Like to see that, put a stall converter and reverse valvebody in it.

Funny how I keep getting the same reaction from everyone. lol Yes. I do have an auto CA18DET so there is at least ONE in this country and it's a true pain in the a$$ to find a flexplate for. So far, I have emailed about 60 people and even some of them in Japan and China but no luck yet. I don't race or drift this car. My kid learned to drive on it. That's the reason for the auto transmission. Now, it's a project car for me to have fun with when I'm not driving my company truck. And I did email some JDM distributors but nothing there yet. I'm not giving up yet.

Thanks for the info guys. And to you mrgreeneyes, the future maintenance aspect might be a consideration but I'm definitely not concerned about the manliness aspect seeing as I am a girl! lol No worries about trying to grow chest hair here or who wins at the pissing contest. Just enjoying my ride.

It may be possible to match the diameter of the ring gear and tooth count to someting domestic. The ring gear can come off with some heat.See if you can track that down and pay a shop to do the work cause it is tricky.

To Slyedog240sx and everyone else here. Do you think the flexplate on a CA18DET is the same than the one on a CA18DE that's in a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE? I know a lot of parts are interchangeable between the two but I don't know if the flexplate is. Thanks
