I don't need to replace mine yet, even though there are now 90K miles on the car. When I do, I want to go with a segmented kevlar disc. I noticed Clutchmasters makes one. Just wondered if anyone else has experience with the few performance aftermarket clutches that seem to be available for the 6 speed manual transaxle. I've even heard of some people experimenting with using clutches from 350Z's in their maximas.

The clutch from the 350z and the max on the 6 speeds are virtually the same. I havent replace the clutch on a 6 speed but about to do it for an 01 AE.... My best suggestion is to actually drive a car that has that type of clutch to see if you like it. I convinced the 01ae guy to go with stock cause that's what he like the best and was used to it. I personally am doing fine with stock and i've convince the 01ae guy to go stock too. It's lasted him 200k miles and that's pretty good in my book.

Yeah my turbo integra has a stage 3 (copper ceramic sprung 6-puck) XTD clutch. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would flame XTD, but they actually make a pretty good clutch. It's a little more harsh than I want for the maxima, since I'm planning to keep the engine stock. I'll still want to occasionally autocross it and take it to the dragstrip though. That's why I want to go with a segmented kevlar disc. I saw that XTD makes a carbon kevlar stage 2 for the 350Z/G35 that's quite a bit cheaper than the CM kit. Just didn't know about fitment in the maxima.

I'm sorry I didnt realize I did not answer your question. Must have dozed into my own happyworld. Yes the 350z is a direct bolt up to the 6 speed maxima.. Side note Be care with the shifter linkages.
