payed on thursday, motors shipped friday evening from cali, arrived monday morning in texas

anyways, we got s13 typeX 97-98 motor(we think) and a 99' s15 motorI have never done a swap before.. so bare with me on possible stoopid questions :Dpics

hks plugs out of s15 motor...

Is this OK? (s13 fusebox wiring cut)

cut at the firewall ....

what is this?

s13's turbo might be blown (lots of oil and play...)

some q's... 1. how many fusebox's does the s15 have....2. use host chassis fuse box for s13 correct? s15?3. any way to tell year of motor (for the s13) to determine if it is a type x (we have j4 ecu)

work begins immediatly...

Yes I have had a motorset overnighted from NoyanUsa... They overnight all of their motors in the mid-atlantic and northeast area.

Anyways, those are some nice toys :ylsuper You are gonna have a lot of fun soldering all of those cut wire back together. Good luck man, I hope for swap(s) go ok!

1. No clue I would assume 2 in the engine2. The SR doesn't plug into the fuse box so use your stock one. The only thing that plugs into fuse box is the lower engine harness (alternator, starter, transmission, etc... which you keep from your KA) The SR harness "connects" into the fuse box via the plugs up by the battery area. 3. You didn't get a clip so you don't have the vin. I don't believe there is any way for you to tell. Oh and by the way your Kouki 180sx ECU does not mean your engine necessarily is. According to sr20det.nismo.org, my engine should be a blacktop from the ECU and I have a redtop.

iirc the j4 ecu is a kouki ecu. Which harness is cut at the firewall? That is probably not very good...The last pic is your recirc valve. Also if you have never done a swap before....good luck with the s15 lol. wiring hell.

ya, it isn't going to be fun getting that one harness that was cut at the firewall back together. I am guessing you are in houston? where did you get your motors from? I ordered mine on a thursday morning and had mine show up on monday also. Truck companies don't play around!

Good luck with wiring and the S15 install if you've never done one!!!!! Especially the one that has been cut at the fire wall. What chassis(s) are putting those motors into?

Thanks for the words...s15 motor is going in an 89 silver hatchs13 motor in 93 black coupemotors are from rcrewracing....we got diffs, driveshafts, crossmembers, mounts toos13 came with radiator (holy crap its skinny... and weighs like 2 lbs) and intercooler.somthing interesting... the s15 driveshaft is ALOT lighter then the s13 one (like 3/5 weight) but looks the same (except lengths)

as far as the cut wiring.. it may yet be somthing we dont use/need anyways... soon i will better organize the wiring and take more pics..

I am thinking of getting a motor from rcrewracing, but the cut harness kinda scares me. He quoted $300 shipped to AL via truck, but I am just a little worried about getting everything in working order and no cut harness. Did yours come in a crate or something? He said that he would include brakes, radiator, intercooler with piping. Basicaly anything I wanted from the clip (but would ship it in a crate).

That's good to hear. I was a little scared about the bundle that looked like it went to the ECU.

Well, we asked, and dan (rcrew) says its a '98 blacktop.although the motor does look a lil dirty/old for a 98...I thought the kouki 180 motors didnt have AIV, but this one does. Dan says they do have AIV.

well find out soon...
