I got the paint pens from paintscratch.com...base, midcoat, clear + the primer.

Anyone got hints at this, I never did a pearl with touchup.

Thanks

Come on somebody!

Fred..:)

PS: When I did my Ivory pearl quartz I alternated the clearcoat with color until the shade matched.I had toothpicks for very small spots also to apply paintremover as needed for overpaint.

Thanks for a couple hints, I hear this is a lot different than base/clear as you have to combine them close to the same way when painted originally, plus avoid too much pearl in one spot.

No it's $30 for a 1/2 oz pen of base and 1/2 oz pen of mid coat.

Clear is $6.50....

if you have any other color the 'color' is only around $15 for the pen.

I believe the 1oz bottle is the same price as the pens only not as easy to use.

will it match up perfectly even if the paint job is eleven years old? do they have a guarantee?

Find me another source and I am game.

As far as the guarantee goes....with any paintwork the user's technique is key. They guarantee the color is right, however, with my pearl (which is a true pearl, tricoat...unlike the other nissan pearls which are just colors, basecoat)...you have to get the right amount of base to midcoat on there. The midcoat is the trickiest due to the flakes....almost any metallic is hard to brush on because the flakes tend to clump and all lay in the brush direction whereas in a spray gun they are random.

If I was just doing black or straight white I have no problems...but I have never done a tricoat.
