Anyone got a walkthrough or any helpful info on heater core replacement

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey guys, I’m about to replace the heater core in a buddies 08 ex35. I looked all over for good info on the process and couldn’t find much for this model. I downloaded the fsm for cooling system and heat and ac and didn’t see anything in either. Also I’d prefer to do it the easiest way possible and not rip the whole dash out if possible. I saw a video where the guy cut a metal piece in the driver footwell that supposedly blocks access to heater core and is the reason the dash has to come out. He was able to do it from there but not sure it was a ex35. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Nico has the FSM for the '08 EX35:

There are very few Nissan products where you can short cut the heater core or evaporator, the dash almost always needs to come out. You'll find the dash removal drawings and instructions in the Interior (INT) section and disassembly of the HVAC in the Heater/AC Control System (HAC) section.

Correction, the R&R and disassembly instructions are in the Ventilation (VTL) section. Here's a link:
