Hey fellas. Just bought myself a Scangauge II from a friend for a deal. Anyone else have one? Likes/Dislikes?

Most of all, where do you have yours mounted? I'm thinking about doing something with the useless sunglasses compartment I have in the overhead console, but I am open to other people's ideas as well.

Thanks guys!

I use the Android app Torque and a generic Bluetooth ELM327 scanner. Here are some photos of my Torque setup:

I thought about getting the Torque App, but I am not sure how much longer my Droid will survive, so I didn't want to drop dough on the app then lose the phone, plus I like being able to use the SC2 on multiple vehicles.

I do like the looks of that app. I might look into it once I get a new phone and maybe sell my SC2

I've got a SGII,

I've mounted it in the coin holder thing right above the hood release.

Its the perfect width.

Not the greatest visibility, but its easy to hook up to the OBD II port.

I'd throw in another vote for Torque. I think I got my adapter for $30, and the app was $5. Were you thinking of switching to iPhone / Windows / Blackberry? Because if you're just going to buy another Android phone, you don't need to re-purchase the app. The app is easy to configure for multiple vehicle profiles as well.

Before getting a smartphone, I was very interested in the SG2 but the price point seemed high. If I had bought one, I was planning on putting it on top of the steering column. That or on the far left side of the dash.

Chances are I would make the switch to the iPhone from my ages old Droid 2.

I'm thinking of ways to modify the sunglasses compartment (if you want to call it that) to give it a factory look and to keep it out of my sacred knee space (i'm 6'4", so while the coin holder idea would work wonders, I can't sacrifice that space :chuckle: ). My other idea is to put it below the 4WD shift switch and ashtray and to the left of my heated seat switches. the only problem is the auxiliary cup holder lid would potentially block its view.

The idea mill is churning.

Yeah, there are cheaper options for sure. The Scangauge should be here in a day or two so I can see what it's like, what gauges are available for the QX/PF and stuff like that.
