Is there anyone in the entire continental USA that actually has an engine from flashoptions or Racinghard? Is there anybody out there that has ordered and actually gotten a clip or engine from a malasian or other overseas place? If so please post what engine and how long it took to get there, price and condition info would be appreciated as well. I see these places as scam sites, but if they are verifiable by several people that actually got what was sold, it would be a great deal.

Scam? I think so, but prove me wrong.

Go ahead and post if you've been screwed by these companies.

The short tale is: FlashOptions sucks. I think that they came through for a guy named Brent. Other than that, everyone else had problems with them. Do a search for FlashOptions.com. There were many threads about that company about 6-8 months ago.

Its best when only actual customers comment about a vendor.

I got an email from racinghard, they asked me if i was still interested in an RB25, i asked how i can trust them and who has bought from them. He responds quickly with a name and email of someone, so i email him. He responds in less than 12 hours saying he ordered two RB25 clips that should arrive in September. He says racinghard sent him a lot of pics on his clips being prepped and shipped and all that. Is this guy part of a malasian con project? Who knows. If i could see pics of the guys clips actually in Chicago, that would be awesome.

That dude hasnt even got his clips yet. He defends them like they are the most legit company though:rolleyes. I looked at both sites. Racinghard looks EXTREMELY similar to flashoptions. Take the RB20 clip. It is maroon. They have the EXACT same clip....just different angles. If they arent the same clip, they LOOK the same. To me piece of mind is key. I would rather pay venus 2500 for an RB25. So if they are the same, that tells me they are the same person/company or somehow affiliated.

1)if I need a replacement part, they are local (US)2)they have gotten people stuff before. Sure people have had problems with them, but they corrected them from what I know. MY experience with them was top notch minus minor minor ****. My motor is good though, so the oteh stuff was BS.

I wouldnt feel comfortable sending someone my money that far away that I dont personally know. To me that is a big gamble. We have enough raping going on right here. At least I dotn need a passport to go whoop some ***;)

Installed by the factory? What fun is that? The 240sx has been crying Swap me since 1988 when they first rolled off the line. My engine asks daily to live in a Pickup chassis instead. The rest of the car is straight up dope.

Driving to Venus, seeing my clip with my own eyes, and then paying for it in person would be vastly superior to trusting a malasian internet company. And i wouldnt pay shipping, just a few hundred in gas. But i like to investigate every option before doing stuff.

 as of today it has been 182 days since i placed my order and still nothing-as far as researching companies i researched and at the time i ordered the only negative things that i heard about flashoptions was a botched order(wrong engine shipped) and a few cases of shipping damage-so researching can only do so much-it seems that any company can go bad overnight-

it seems that the thing to do is to bombard these companies with emails expressing our disgust with the way that they treat customers-let them know exactly what their actions are doing to their business-and to contact any authorities that may have resources to remedy these complaints-

two methods that i have come across so far are-state attorney general and the federal trade comission-they have a section that deals with international fraud issues-you can reach them through ftc.org and find consumer complaints and this will direct you through to international fraud department

i encourage everyone that feels outrage to email these companies and those who have been screwed to use any and all resources that you can find to attain a resolution to this treatment

Yea let him keep telling you that..ask him the bottom line...when he payed...and how long he's been waiting...they 'have' the motors there, so there is no way, for any reason it should take over 2 weeks, to ship, and go through customs. Even if 'that kid' (*yes i know who you are refereing to) gets something...how long did he wait?

Oh I'm not saying he's right or wrong and I personally would never order from RH. But I give people the benefit of the doubt and if he says the motors are in customs then I have no reason not to believe him. Yes, it's been WAY to long for him to get his motors. But he went into the purchase knowing it would take a while.

How many times do we have to say this?

If you haven't done business with the company, then you have no firsthand knowledge of their business practices, so keep your comments to yourself.

People come here for reliable information, not a bunch of uninformed noise.

Not trying to start a huge argument over this but wouldn't a ton of "uninformed noise" be indicative of their reputation?

You don't hear a ton of people bashing AutoZone or something... because they are reputable.

Anyway that's all you'll hear from me on this I just wanted to point out that the so called "uninformed noise" is probably indicative of their reputation.

just my $.02

EDIT: Oh and I saw another post saying that members should do their "research" well some of us would like to hear the negative and positive feedback about your sponsors.... that is part of the "research" involved in choosing a company to make a purchase from. Is it not?

if i am reading the prior post correctly it is saying that flash options is a reputable company-is that why i am still waiting after 225 days and still am getting nothing more than a bunch of bs like it has been stuck in customs for 2 months and that i can no longer get the clip that i ordered-that i will have to settle for a swap and some springs-this is not the way that a reputible company does business-

just curious-are you getting your full clip or did they try to cheat you by offering you a swap and some other stuff like they tried to do to me-they called me almost 4 weeks ago to tell me that the clip was at customs and that the agent will contact me-so far nothing and they still say that it is in customs

just curious if they are trying to screw over everybody or if it is just the people that have been waiting for a long time

i've got trouble with flashoptions.com. i ordered a b20b longblock for my integra back in march. the person i've dealt with was Gavin at flashoptions. he bull****ed me around for weeks saying it'll be in my driveway with 2 weeks but but it never happened.

i've had countless conversations with gavin and kept sayin it had to clear customs. then he said customs in CA would take a long time to clear so he had a 2nd shipment sent to michigan where there "is" a flashoptions warehouse. he said i should expect a call from the wharehouse and work out shipping from there.

so i waited and the warehouse never called, so i called gavin up. i told him to give me the number and name of someone werking at the warehouse and he did. i called the guy up and he picked up my 1st call, i explained to him what gavin had told me about the 2nd shipment. he then took my name and number and said that he needed to talk to gavin. he said he's got about 20 b20b longblocks lined up ready to ship out but gavin had never forwarded any costumers money.

after that conversation the guy at the warehouse never called me back. i then called gavin and had him look up my information to see if they were the slimest possible chance they were legit or just taking peoples money, he pulled up my name. address, and phone #. i felt a little bit better that they have the info on hand, he said i should get my longblock soon.

didn't hear from f/o for a few months. i emailed them a few days ago askin for a reply from gavin. they replied sayin that Gavin no longer werks from flashoptions. great. so they sent along an attachment that is paperwerk for me to fill out.

i need to fill out my address, what i ordered, how much i paid etc... so i need to fax and email that along with my receipt from my western union money transfer. so now i get to look thru old e mails for all that shat. luckily i saved every piece of e mail that f/o sent me.

at this point i just want my longblock or my money back soon!!! i don't care about customs and all that sh1t cuz its been too long already. flashoptions is a very attractive site along with the prices, it was too good to be true...

i remember that, the only thread made was a customer pointing out how long it has been since he paid, he asked if anyone went thru the same stuff. i replied sayin i went thru the same kinda stuff. after that the forums were takin off and never put back on.

just keep holding your breath and maby it will come in-i have been in contact with the customs broker handling flash options shipments and my clip is finally here(i ordered on march 6) but they are having numerous paperwork problems incliding bills of lading-my clip is not even listed on the bol so customs may impound it so i am keeping my fingers crossed until then

good luck with yours!!!
