Ive never gone to a drag track but several people on this forum including myself have taken the versa to autocross events (solo2) and have done exceptionally well. you would be suprised at wat the versa is capable of on the track. i have the results of a track day a couple of us socal versa guys went to. look for Bob Spencer(versaspeed), me Greg, and George. Bob did incredibly well on times beating a bunch of cars 8th out of 26 is not bad at allfjwagner wrote:a Versa and the track? Are you actually serious?
Serious... This was the 2009 SR20 Convention in Savannah GAfjwagner wrote:a Versa and the track? Are you actually serious?
Haha, just for clarification... The blue tape on the front was to protect against rock chips, there were about 10 cars at a time out there and they like to kick up rocks...Reed19x wrote:My assumption, since it seems to be where there would be "aero-drag"...probably for aerodynamics. Taping up the door handles and near the lights most likely reduces drag from the air and increases the ability of the car to cut through the air. Just my basic high school physics hypothesis though.
Awesome pics by the way, makes me want to trade in my Pathfinder for a Versa!
Damn, I almost felt smart for a secondCodeRed wrote:

The owner of the track made you keep all four windows down, although on the second run I only had the front...whoops
On the straights it was at 110-115 mphAs for the door handles, that was my Brother-in-law's doing... No aerodynamic advantages...
The car held up very well. The instructor actually liked how well the car handled with just springs.#1Tango wrote:i like the pix codered how did your V hold up over there?
Yeah, 700 mile trip.Mile High Versa wrote:Now I understand the point of the blue tape.
Would be good for those looking for stock times when talking about drag racing. Then to compare vs the modifications.matt_a wrote:Our Versa doesn't have any performance mods and God knows the Versa isn't a performance car from the factory. Running a stock versa for time on a track is about as useful as a screendoor on a submarine.
Yeah, that's true. I didn't really think about that. I guess if you know you're going to do performance mods in the future it's a good way to gauge improvement.biggie wrote:Would be good for those looking for stock times when talking about drag racing. Then to compare vs the modifications.
