I am trying to put together a personal site, and need help designing a logo 360x40 pixels, and also coming up with a better background. Can anyone help me out?

This is currently what I have done (about 2 minutes under photoshop.)



Here is kind of what I'd like the Text style to be, or maybe something more creative, but works well with the current sites theme.



I am going to change the background to something else, more of a black(#00000)/graphite theme(#444444). I would like some suggestions on that as well.
