I decided that I wanna learn how to make good ribs this summer.

Looking around on google searches and whatnot I have found a bunch of different recipies, but I'd like to see what you NICO people think. There's gotta be someone on here who can cook up a mean rack, so lets hear your secrets!

My uncle can cook a mean set of ribs, and any other BBQ for that matter. It's Texas ... naturally we are just good at it ;)

Shoot, I'd just slather em' down in some jack daniels steak sauce and cook them REALLY slowly on the grille. I'd smoke em' and use hickory I do believe.

It make good tender ribs you have to cook out the muscle. so if you can slowly cook them for like 3 to 4 hours migh do, just keep covering them or they will dry out. just my 2 cent of 13 grand for cooking school. ps. If a good cooking method is need ill get you guys one.

I don't actually measure anything. I just do it to taste.

McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning and salt - combine and rub all over the ribs. (If you don't like spicy then lightly sprinkle over the ribs)

Preheat oven to 300°F. Place ribs on a rack in a roasting pan. Add 1/2-inch of water to bottom of pan. Cover pan with foil and tightly seal edges. Bake for about 2 hours. Take out of the pan and put them on the grill and baste them with whatever BBQ sauce you like. I use Jack Daniels BBQ. Cook on grill for about 15 minutes. Make sure you baste a lot during the grilling.

Side dishes to this are corn on the cob, cole slaw, ranch style beans and if you can handle it - homemade corn bread.

Dang! Now I'm hungry! See ya'll later, I'll be in the kitchen. :)

See, she knows how it is! This stuff rocks :) I regularly use it on sausage as well.

Sorry sweetie, I also have a twelve year old, that eats more than Hitman, to feed. I made 8lbs of beef ribs, and they were gone in like 5 minutes!

Next time you're in Phoenix you can stay wth us and I'll make you ribs. :)

Greg you owe me one!!

NicoMom, thanks for the ideas! I never knew ribs were usually cooked first in the oven and then on the grill... although I'm sure there are lots of different methods. I cant wait to start making my own this summer!

LOL! I'll hold you to that one. What's the deal with these little kids and their eating? My 11 year old brother out eats me. My problem isnt the fact that they are eating so much. All I wanna know is where they put it all?

This kid is a freak. I've seen him put away 3 BK Whoppers with cheese and a large soda all at once. I can only eat one.

Of course, he's a sick little guy on the football field too - Lives for the ESPN-style hits, and his "kill list" grows every game. Skinny, wiry sucker, no regard for his own body, and he hits people like a damn truck.

Greg! That rib coment was totally unnecessary!

I hear ya though. These little kids are getting out of hand. Hers's a list of a few of my quarrels with them.

1. They eat so damn much2. They are getting sooooooo good at video games My 6 year old brother beat Need4 Speed underground in 2 1/2 months when he was 5 and has beaten me a couple times and is good at many other games.3. They are so strong. When I play fight with my 11 year old brother, I gotta really watch out. His punches are fast. And he takes a lot of damage with out giving up. My 6 year old bro will hit you with anything he could get his hands on and will even hit you in the nuts or headbut you if necessary.

These little kids need to be stopped. Imediately! I just know they are gonna kick my *** when they get older.

Oh and both of them play Soccer and B Ball. The 6 year old is by far the most competitive kid in his soccer team and league. He takes hits like a champ and damn near scored most of the goals his team had. The the season is starting saturday and al he's concerned about is scoring goals.
