deng i had a smogging problem newly swapped ka24de wouldnt pass smog because of high nox at low gears...

it only passed because the guy was pretty cool cause he knows my cousin and he helped me out...did some stuff...created a vacuum in the egr system just to keep the nox low...

pretty wack though it bearly passed...i thought i would pass with flying colors...but i guess a lot of 240sx have high nox...

i wish i could help you out but ya...just check some local shops...they would have hook-ups on smog checks...

look around, there are always some smog shop that will make a deal w/ you. look for the asian owned smog shops and ask. its better than trying to wait for someone to respond to this thread.

Smog is a very big issue when playing and modifying turbo cars in any west coast state. You gotta line up your sources far ahead of time. The best advice I can give is to use the search button on nicoclub and to read through all the threads that are relevant to you. All the questions have already been answered, just gotta go do some fishing. Good luck.

What about using E85? Could this have the same effect? or will that make it run lean or something thing release too many NOx's?

I'm about to try your method in a few weeks but i figured I would ask about the E85, I have a stand alone so I could tune for the e85 just for smog without too much of a problem.

But basically run the car on the rich side so no NOx's get release and since it's alcohol no COx's will be released either?

My buddies are still doing smog.

It’s a guarantee pass They don’t even have to see your car

They do smog test and smog check

It doesn’t mater how far you live. You could just send the stuff through mail. They’ve done smog for people that live from Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento to all the way in San Diego.

All they need is a copy of your registration current mileage and the money. And it will be ready in about 3-5 business days.

For more info just e-mail me at: [email protected]

I honestly feel sorry for all of you in cali.....well except the small amount of us that are registered in none smog counties. I have both of mine registered in humboldt county, it is a none smog county. after you find one you can go to any dmv in the state and pay your registration and grab your stickers. ive been doing this for almost six years now, all my buddies down here in the san diego/ oceanside area are always pissed cause i just pay registration and no smog fees...all though being military might play a roll in this so some careful lying at the dmv will asure you get your im just visiting and my registration is up, can i pay here....

The best way to "beat the system" is to burn all of your fuel INSIDE the engine instead of spitting it out the exhaust. (And you get more power if you do that as well.) 8-) My 7-year old car emits ZERO hydrocarbons. Smog test is on site...

Konnichiwa fellow forum dwellers.

School, work and a new born has kept me away from my beloved forums.

My boy hooked it up. Smog exempted for life.

For anyone trying to ask me a specific question, I don't read this thread much anymore. All the advice I can give has been given. All the advice I've given is listed in this thread.

This thread should be about making your car actually pass emissions. If you have a RB/CA/SR post in the correct forum.

Sorry to bring a dead thread back to life but....

I have a 91 ka24de/ AEM ram intake 210xxx miles. Just got it smogged, passed everything except the NOx levels. 15mph was at 1516 (needs to be 516 to pass), and the 25mph was exactly 516 (passed).

Any ideas how to drop my NOx levels to pass?

I need to get it to pass before the end of this month so my registration (car came from texas) will be good.

DMV said they can not give me an extension, no exceptions.

As a side note, how the hell do you subscribe to the thread? Definitely not like other forums I'm used to...

Any an all help is much appreciated,
