I am a consultant and work in many different places on different days. For the past two days I parked at a client office building and happened to park within a couple of spots of another 07 g35x exact package as mine (pretty much totaly loaded) just black rather than slate blue. I came out for lunch both days and found all four windows down about 1/4 of the way and the truck unlocked... The first day I thought I must have hit something getting out of the car and not noticed. I put the windows up, closed the trunk and the rest of the day no problem. But today when I got out of the car I payed attention to everything and even check the windows and trunk, not that I needed to it was about 10 below zero so there was NO WAY I had a window open. I came out for lunch and the windows, all 4 of them were in exactly the same place as the day before, the trunk was unlocked again as well, I had a $5000 notebook in the trunk and it was still there so this is not the work of someone trying to steal the car or anything, could it be that it was affected by the inteligent key of the other g35? This has never happened before. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure about the 07s cuz I have 03 coupe but when you hold the unlock button on the key, it rolls down the windows. I had that happen to me before where I would find my windows rolled down. Maybe when you were sitting down, you were accidentally pressing the unlock button and it just rolled down? Thats what happened to me. Anyone with another 07 have any ideas?

I have an '07 G35X and I went out to the garage one morning and all 4 windows were rolled down about 1/4 of the way. I had no idea what I'd done to make it do that so I took a look in the manual, section 3-15:
Opening windows To open the windows, push the door UNLOCK button on the Intelligent Key for about 3 seconds after the door is unlocked. To stop opening, release the UNLOCK button.Window cannot be closed using the Intelligent Key.The door windows can be opened or closed by turning the metal key in a door lock.

Opening trunk lid1. Push the TRUNK button q3 on the Intelligent Key for more than 1second.2. The trunk will unlatch.3. Raise the trunk lid to open the trunk.
Even after reading this and knowing why it happened I've still had the windows down, or the trunk open 2 or 3 more times when I've gone out to the car in the morning - some how, some way I'm putting pressure on buttons. I have never had both the windows down and the trunk open though, but I'm sure it could happen.

If you are keeping the key fob in your pants pocket like I do chances are your putting enough pressure on the buttons to hold them down for a long enough period of time to make them function. Of course the manual also states that the key fob only operates up to 33 feet away.

I'd try doing something different with the key fob - try carrying it in your hand, put it in your coat pocket, something different than what you have been doing and see if they windows and trunk are still opened when you come back out.

Oh, and welcome!

Welcome to NICO

I think the fact that you were parked close to another G the same as yours may have been the cause of your problem? The next time you walk by another G, try using your intellegent key and see If it works on another vehicle? I would also check with the dealer. They may have heard of this before?

Weird

I am with Jon. It is easy to push the buttoms accidently in your pocket. Perhaps you should look into buying those silicon sleeves for the int. keys. That would save you to do that.

Also if you go to your dealer and ask if they experiened this before would not hurt.

Did you get your int. key replaced when it was a recall?

oups I almost forget. Welcome to Nico.

Nope... I have an 08. It's the key fob being activated in your pocket. I find my trunk open all the time. I have even been sitting in the car (with the fob in my pocket) when all of a sudden the windows started going down. I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that the that key fob rubbed against the console or something else. I posted once asking if anyone had problems with their fob activating the emergency horn thing. No one else did. I had to take all the keys off the FOB and that cut it down by 80%. It still happens though. But trunk open, oh yeah. I look at the trunk now every time I enter the car

Could it be the bulge in you pants pressing against the FOB in your pocket?

LOL

I dunno bout the newer year, but my 2003 has a switch inside the glove box that i can flip so that even the FOB won't activate the unlock. Something to keep in mind if you have valuables in the trunk.

Thanks everyone I played around with the Fob and noticed what you have mentioned and I guess that is what caused it. I did have the Fob in my pants pocket those two days because I was down south and it was warm... It all seems to point to you guys being correct.

Of course I've never had problems with the windows down except for this morning after 1/4 inch of Ice last night I go to warm up my car and find out all the windows are down. The insides of my 04 sedan were like a Hockey Rink..

The windows were not all down the exact same level, should I expect this if the Key Fob did it, or maybe the Ice determined how far they would go down. I always put my keys on the table inside the house when I get home so the only possiblity is that the kids were playing with them.

Is it possible there was some sort of other electrical fault? The doors were locked and nothing was taken, the weather over night was too bad to expect someone was messing with my car.

Anyway it was a Huge mess and a terrible way to start the day, but everthing in the car appears to be functioning correctly..

OUCH!!

Sorry to hear!!!

That would be a hell of an electrical malfunction. I don't think that it's possible... but you never know with technology these days.

Welcome aboard...I'm sure someone more tech saavvy then me will chime in!!

Just this morning I came out to my car in my garage with all windows down 1/4 and the trunk open. This has been happening more frequently. Previously it was mostly the trunk. I am extremely concerned since I often keep a laptop in the trunk. If anyone has had this serviced please let me know.

The only time I've had this happen was when I had my key fob in my pocket and didn't realize the button was being pressed in by something else in the same pocket. To see if that is the issue pay a bit more attention to where the key fob is and what else is in the same pocket. If the occurrences stop then you know what caused it.

Additionally, I assume most people who have this happen it's when the vehicle is home and the key fob is potentially still in range of the vehicle? I don't think I've heard of people experiencing this when the car is off in some parking lot.

I had a '95 Q45 that did this very frequently, and I'm quite sure it was from me leaning on things with the controller in my pocket, or bending/squatting such that my clothing compressed the button. It happens occasionally with the 2011 G.

Besides home, it happens at my golf club, where the course surrounds the parking lot in such a way that I'm within 100yd of the car several times during a round.

Long way of saying, Matt's right, IMO.

I am a new member to the forum here and the owner of an '08 G37-S. This evening around 6:30 a cold front came through and it started to pour down rain. It had been raining for a while when I put my coat and hat on and walked out to my car, that I park outside, in the driveway. To my horror, sitting there in the pouring down rain was my beautiful G37 Coupe with both windows all the way down. The interior? Soaked. I tried for the life of me to figure out how the windows got down. I am extremely mindful to lock the doors and roll up the windows, close the sunroof, and I even am in the habit of pulling the sunshade closed when I leave the car. Especially because I knew it was going to rain later. So, confused and upset, I dried out the interior with terrycloth towels and hung up the floormats to dry. I told my father about it, since he is a 'car guy', and in a few hours he had done some internet searching and found this thread in the NicoForum, where conveinently, I am a member.
The intellegent key in the pocket getting pressed accidently is a plausible theory...
As is another infiniti intellegent key in the local vicinity having the same frequency signal (the neighbors have a G37 sedan)...
Also, perhaps it is interference from another type of device, like a garage door opener, or an RC car remote, or something like that?...
Not completely sure why it happened still, but there must be some kind of mathmatical principal that increases the likelyhood of something like this to happen at the worst possible time :chuckle:

That sux....I've luckily never had that happen on either my maxima nor either of my G's (windows down and it rains). If your neighbors car is on the same frequency that's easy to check as you should be able to arm/disarm their car with your fob.

I got rain in the Q once--that was at the golf course. Good news is that once it dried, I saw no ill effects.

This has happened a few times with cars I have owned. I have now stopped carrying my keys in my pants pocket if I can help it. This is easy to do in cold weather, I just keep my keys in my coat pocket. If I am carrying my keys in my pants pocket I try to make sure I take them out of there when I sit down. Fortunately I have never had the problem when it has been raining, but I know I'd be terribly upset if it did. I catch myself checking to make sure my windows are up before going to bed if my keys are still in my pants pocket.

Hi all! New to the forum. I had the weirdest thing happen related to this topic. I have had the windows roll down before. Always the same distance, always during the night in the garage. Last night it happened again, but different. Both front windows down about 1/2 way, rear windows down about 1/4, trunk unlocked, car locked. The key fob was in the front seat. I had tossed it into the car when I got out. A storm came through overnight. Finding the car locked with the window opened enough for me to reach through I hit the unlock button on the inside of the car door. But when I opened the door to climb in the alarm went off.
I never bumped the fob as it was in the front seat, so there goes that theory. I know I have left the key in the car overnight before. Does the car think a human is in the car so opened the windowwindow
