Well, to begin I've owned an Active Q for some years. And thanks to Keith, I've replaced 4 accumulators and an actuator due to an accident. I've also replace various bushings sway bar and upper links as well. So I have a basic knowledge of the active suspension part. Alas, I now bought a 96 G50 with a touring package ( I think). I think, because it hasn't been delivered as yet.
So, moving to why I'm actually posting here is: I'm not too sure what a "touring" suspension is. Moreover, I'm not too sure how it differs from a regular base model Q. Secondly, are there any known problem areas which should be addressed? (such as weak accumulators on the active). And lastly, I wonder if the T and the A share any suspension parts? I still have my A sitting at my house. I think they share a power steering pump. But I'm not too sure what else.
Yup, I know I've just asked a pretty packed question. But I'm still looking forward to any responses to any/all parts of this question. So thank you in advance

Which year? 94 had active rear steering. All had a rear anti-sway bar, but not as effective as the a model one.

Heated seats and CD player in trunk, rear spoiler, no CHMBL on the parcel shelf, and that's about it. Some think the 94 came with a faster steering ratio, but never confirmed in my mind. Oh, and the forged BBS wheels. Very light and strong.

I have a 92 Active. And just bought a 96. I think its a T. But I'm not too sure. The picture under the hood shows a fluid resevoir on the passenger side. Although I don't know what its for. The numbers on the back don't say Q45t. So really don't know. It does have heated seats and traction control. My question is really about the suspension differences between the T and base model. Assuming that there are any. But thank you for your prompt response. Oh, I almost forgot. No rear spoiler

The base model G50 didn't come with a rear sway bar. Since the base didn't have a rear sway bar, the base front sway bar is actually larger than the front bar on the A or T model.

Don't let those A model (front and rear) sway bars get away..

Here's a thread about T & A in the link below -- albeit not the same as the song from "A Chorus Line".. Ha!

I wonder what that fluid reservoir is for on the passenger side under the hood?

It looks like a brake fluid resevoir
Ps. I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures on here with my iPhone. That would probably help more

You'll need to host the pictures somewhere like google's picasaweb, and then put the link here in image tags. So something like {img}addressofyourpicture{/img} except replace the " { } " with regular brackets like " [ ] "

You can also click the "full editor" button under the reply window, highlight your link, and click the "Img" button if you don't feel like typing out the image tags.

As far as identifying things on your car - the 1996 owner's manual should still be available on Infiniti's publication web site. http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com/deptog.aspx?dept_id=54

I can't tell you for sure without seeing a picture of it, but if it looks like a brake fluid reservoir and it's on the passenger side just ahead of the strut tower, then it's probably the reservoir for the TCS.

*EDIT*
Does your engine bay look like mine? (I have TCS)

It's standard with no rear anti-sway bar. No actives in 1996.

yep, TCS reservoir. Do about 6 turkey baster suck and fills a few days apart to get the fluid nice and clean. 91-93 actives had no tcs (either active or tcs (or base)). ALL 94-95 active have tcs. active dropped for 96 MY. HICAS dropped for 95 MY.

A [Q45a] active 20mm rear sway bar and a reduction to any year [90-95] t or a front bar [1mm smaller in diameter] will really reduce the designed in understeer by off loading some stress from the front tires, helping rear tires do more work in turning.
