So I was checking out this Gempler's tire sealant in the commercial grade formula. I was thinking of putting this in the Rogue's tires as most of my flat tires over the years are caused by small nails.

Here is a link to their website. (I don't know if I am allowed to link to external third party sites or not, if not I apologize!) I am NOT affiliated with Gempler's in any way, just curious about their products.

Just wanted to put it out there and see what the forum thinks of this.

Normally this is used to repair flats when you're in a pinch, the products I've seen are not intended to be used in the tires ahead of time as a puncture-prevention measure - this product does claim that it prevents punctures. If you're in a bind and need to seal a leak it probably works just fine, but I can tell you that tire shops HATE this stuff and will probably charge you extra for repairs, or re-mouting tires if you've gummed up the inside with this sealer stuff. Also I would think this stuff would be bad for the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors.

My opinion, stay away from the stuff. Flat tires are very rare, and if you do happen to get one just slap on the full-size spare and be on your way. Spraying this goop inside your tires is a quick fix but long-term is not a good idea.

I can understand why you say that. This stuff is actually different than the fix-a-flat crap. That is stuff that gums up and causes a hassle for tire repair guys. The gemplers is apparently different. This stuff is actually like water...they say it is water soluble and from what I understand, until it is forced under pressure through a hole it stays a liquid. Once force through a hole that is where it turns solid and plugs the hole.

They say the way to get the stuff OUT of the tire is to simply have the tire in such a way so the fluid is at the bottom and the valve stem at the top and you can let the air out without any problems. From there I believe you remove the valve stem and basically just pour the fluid back out of the tire.

I do see one positive review on their website from someone who used it in their vehicle. They claimed a MPG increase too, although I find that hard to believe.

OH...also I don't have any TPMS system so no worries there.

The main reason I brought it up is because in the last 5 years I have probably had 10 flat tires. They were all slow leaks brought on by picking up a small nail. I was hoping to avoid having to change a tire in the arizona heat with a wife and kid waiting in the car. I would rather just keep driving and deal with the problem once I get the family back home.
