Recently, I cleaned the throttle plate on my 01 PF 4X4 - which I really regret. As, after that I started to get the code for the IAC Valve malfunction. First, I pulled the ECM to check for any sign of burning (as this can be a problem in some). No external sign/small of burning. Then, I did the tests in the FSM to check the IAC system. Did the idle and air volume relearn. Finally, I replaced the IAC valve with a Hitachi unit from the internet and then did the idle and air volume relearn. Same thing, SES light will come on if you let the truck idle a while in Park (but not in Drive) and give an IAC Valve code. The Park idle is a little high (just over 900) and the RPMs "bounce" when you let off the throttle and coast. Im wondering, since I already replace the IAC Valve, if the Nissan dealer can actually tell whats going on with this vehicle with Consult II, or they are just going to tell me I need a new IAC Valve again (which already didn't fix the issue). Can Consult II tell if the ECM is damaged? Can it actually test the IAC Valve? I did resistence checks on the old IAC Valve per the FSM and it checked fine. I have no vacuum or intake air leaks I can find. Im thinking it's 1 of 2 things: The ECM was damaged when I sprayed cleaner on the throttle plates and got shorted out when the IAC Valve got wet (I didnt d/c the battery). -OR- The new IAC Valve is also bad, and I should just get a new throttle body from Nissan for $350.00 (comes already with IAC Valve and throttle position sensor and switch on it). Can anyone help? Suggestions?
