1990 240 Fastback-Symptom-hollow rubbing sound when in reverse from rear, while brakes are applied. Does not make sound without brake in reverse or make sound while driving forward. All brakes have been replaced and no difference(bought it with it)

Maybe a bent output shaft? Can anyone confirm something with out getting under car...I hadn't had time!

since its with the brakes on, its gotta be related tothe brakes...

When you replaced the brakes, did you replace the shims as well?

I didn't do the work...took it in for an inspection and just paid them to do it, but keep going sounds like good advice to look at! It could be anything, when I got it back the pass. rear wheel almost fell off due to untorqed lugs.

Hollow? Might just be your diff and/or drive shaft... they tend to make a different noise in reverse, or at least mine does.

Diff was my first idea when I became aware of it...but it is still the stock open diff and drive shaft. Its got to be brake related thought....its got to be. I wish I had a real garage lift to do stuff, I hate braking out the craftsman floor jack and crawling under! Anyway what are some nissan things to look for as I inspect this!
