They are supposed to have a one way valve built in that lets one man bleed the brakes by himself. I read mixed reviews on them. Some people swear by them and think they are great. Other people say they leak after a while or break off, ruining the caliper unless you can drill them out. One person said one of his let go while driving, causing him to loose his brakes. Some people reported them rusting and getting frozen. They cost around $7.99 to $9.99 for two. Stainless steel speed bleeders are even more expensive, maybe $15 each.

Update, I found another problem reported with speed bleeders. They put some dry sealant on the threads to keep air from being sucked in around the treads when the bleeder screw is cracked open. This sealant is only good for about four times opening and closing, then air will leak in unless it is replaced with some new sealant that costs $10 for a tiny bottle. You have to remove the speed bleed screw, clean it, apply the sealant, and then bake it in your oven to dry it.
In the meantime fluid is leaking out of the open bleeder screw hole unless you saved you old screw to temporarily plug it. Also, the sealant will harden up in the bottle so you will probably have to keep buying it.

First I suck all the fluid out of the master and refill with new(optional but it speeds up things and saves a little fluid waste) then with a helper I just bleed a quart through starting with the right rear, the color changes slightly during the race so I watch carefully as to see the color changes.
Some people use expensive fluid, we found http://www.amazon.com/Pentosin-Super-DO ... B0042G8D7U works great, never boiling (509 deg boil point)

So you bleed just by pumping the brake pedal correct ?
Not with the vacuum rig.

Correct just the pedal with the car turned off.

I think you have the fastest reply ever.

I have used them before and they are ok. You can bleed them by yourself but its kind of a pain to constantly be checking when the fluid has been flushed out with new fluid and like me when I added stainless steel brake lines for the s13, it was also fun guessing when all the air had bled out of the system. I swapped back to regular ones when I bled mine before the track day in September. IMHO, it gives a better pedal feel when bleeding with 2 people than with the speed bleeders. I use Motul RBF 600 (593degree boiling point). It was either Motul RBF 600 or the ATE Super Blue that all the Z/GT-R guys were using at the track event.

Install with no issues. Make sure you use a flare nut wrench when installing them. Had a friend use a regular open end and stripped 2 of the fittings.
