Normally I would assume this kind of stuff is just a scam... If they really increased fuel efficiency and whatnot, wouldn't the manufacturers of the vehicles slap one in for a couple bucks? lol

But, thought I'd just throw this question out there in case someone has a good link or something about how these do nothing, or perhaps I'm wrong and they're actually worth throwing a few bucks at...

"Mythbusters" did an episode on ways to save fuel economy. Nothing made a noticeably difference of the 5 or 6 items they tried (including magnets), They bought them all off the net.

In some cases, fuel economy actually got worse.

For $10, try it & report back.

it will:1. Up to 30% Increase in Engine Life 2. 50% Reduction in Carbon monoxide and Hydrocarbon 3. 10% to 22% Fuel Savings 4. Does NOT void vehicle warranty5. Works on all vehicle including diesel6. Save $500 to $1,500 a Year 7. No cutting of the fuel line8. Up to 10 Horse Power Increase 9. 0% Maintenance for Life 10. Less Than 1 Minute to Install

If this thing really works, points #2 & 3 would be worth it for every auto manufacturer to install these to meet the Fed emmision & CAFE standards.

Buy it, track the stats & take this guy to court (false advertising) for all the money he has scammed from other morons.

Absolutely a scam.

Think about it for a few minutes (not insulting your inteligence, just offering some comments):

Do you see these devices sold in reputable autoparts stores, where they can be returned or guaranteed? Nope. Only online, half the time with "no refunds, as-is" sales policies.

Do these devices come in new cars? Nope. Don't you think that manufacturers would use ANY devices possible to increase fuel economy, especially these days? Your Versa would already have one if they worked.

Look at the auction title. "Nissan Titan/Versa gas fuel saver"? Why "Titan/Versa"? They have absolutely nothing in common. It's most likely because the Titan and Versa have the most owners who are unhappy with their milage. Either that or they know that Titan owners get bad milage, and Versa owners are likely to be stingy about milage.

It's no good. Consumer reports, MotorWeek, Mythbusters, and countless others have proved this particular system as snake oil. Their results may show a decrease of all these things in a lab, but they do nothing in the real world. I always thought that the tornado was a fuel saver until I read and seen all of the real world test. Changing driving habits, dropping extra weight, and keeping the tires properly inflated will save more fuel than any one of these items. I say save the $10 and treat yourself to something small.
