Anyone ever tried to repair Mass Air Flow Sensor?

Has anyone ever attempted to repair their MAF Sensor. I have been searching online for any leads on it. I have found the usual try cleaning it with a special cleaner or just replace it. I have already tried that and my car still runs poorly. I have checked the ECU for any codes and it gives off a code 12. I looked on craigslist and ebay for a used MAF. There was a ad on ebay on how to repair your MAF. It sounds like a B.S. like half the things on ebay. Just wanted to throw this idea out at you guys. To me I think that mainly goes bad on a MAF is the thermistor. I know theres places where we can buy the thermistor but i dont know which one to get. Thanks

i think you're better off just buying a brand new mafs or something. It'll save you the hassle

I've searched at a few automotive stores and they range from about $300 to over $400 dollars for a MAF sensor...... To me that doesn't seem cheap. I don't have that kind of money to spend. Unless I'm looking in the wrong places....

Yeah try explaining it to a customer when they just drove from another store a few towns over, and the part is almost double the price for no reason! Oh well just by chino's MAF.

Yeah just buy a used one. You can get them for about 40 bucks and there just as good. Contact anyone who has said they had one and you'll be good to go.

I know this is an old posting, but did you have any luck with the maf? Did you find one, clean it or fix it? Having problems with mine...Thanks in advance..............JD
