I'm looking for a good oem replacement timing chain kit without going balls out and buying factory Nissan. Anyone ever use Clyes or Topline? Theyre available at rockauto.com. I dont feel %100 comfy with buying a kit for $60 off eBay. Thanks.

These arent eBay timing chains, theyre off of rockauto.com. Everyone says OEM Nissan OEM Nissan but I'm not paying a 300% markup for a name when I can get the same quality from a different company other than the lowest bidder Nissan went with. I'm looking for people with experience with this comapny or at least one comperable to give me some advice.

Me and my friends have gotten all our KA (S and DOHC) timing parts from advance auto. Always good parts and the aren't expensive. Plus if they get you the wrong stuff (rare) they can exhange it w/o you having to deal with an online company.

I need to move by you beacuase the Adavnce Auto by me alwas gives people the wrong parts. Then they don't apoplogize and act like youre wasting their time coming back to return it. I'll see what they have there, I'm heading up there today anyway, thanks.

I personally think that the topline stuff should be fine, but haven't used it yet. I do know the next time I do a timing chain on my 240 I won't be using oem nissan cuz it's like $300-400 for everything IIRC. As far as advance giving out wrong stuff, I don't have many problems. I work at a dealership though and we have an account with them so we are on pretty good terms and we also deal with someone that is specifically assigned to commercial accounts.

Ive never heard of either brand until I looked for a timing chain. Is Topline a reputable brand?

Do you want me to find out the right part numbers from advance?

I can do it this weekend some time I think if you really want me too.

screw autozone! theyre ok and they have good parts, good return policy, good prices, good tool rentals (in my area/exp) but their inventory system SUCKS! part numbers often match multiple parts for different vehicles even if you searched by your vehicle.ex:*i looked up the this part by my vehicle...HERE!!!!*ok now if you search by part number using that part number, it gives you [url=http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalo ... tid=262876]this!!!!!*so the cashier ordered my part by that number, i told him it was hydrolic hose so i got THIS!!!

just be careful when ordering from autozone, everything else is always good. maybe it was just that part....?

TOPLINE is a fairly common brand nowadays for aftermarket replacement parts. I've used their stuff a few times with no problems. Cloyes is a very well known brand and along with making replacement parts they make some high quality performance parts. As far as what advance auto parts lists for the timing set it is the right part. It can still be screwed up by an incompetent counter guy though
