Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

So, I pulled my engine to redo some stuff and a wire tuck right, and am taking off the old intercooler. When I pull the hot and cold pipes off, water comes spilling out of it.

I think that was the cause of my sputter problem under full boost....

Anyone ever seen this before. I'll get a pic up when I can find my damn cell phone

If it is just a little then it's probably condensation.

See I thought coolant at first too, but it was straight stagnant water. We have had some serious rain and snow lately, but my hood is never up outside, and I covered my intake when I washed my bay...

What did you cover the intake with when washing it? Possible it still leaked through if it was just a cloth.

Sounds like he tried to cover it with a funnel

Close but it was actually an APC airfilter. You know for that jdm-tyte flow restriction.

No, I cover it with a bag, then tape it around the intake.

With that much water I would be pretty worried. It is normal for a IC to produce a little condensation internally. Anything accumulated over 200ml could be potential engine failure.

I fail to see the connection between water in the intercooler and a failing engine besides one causing the other. There is no physical means for water to enter the intercooler unless the turbo is somehow blowing it in.
