I was thinking about getting some wheel locks to protect my wheels but I can't seem to find just locks that match my rainbow lugs. Has anyone ever even gotten their wheels stolen before? I mean I have some nice wheels but can't see anyone going to the trouble to steal them. You can't even fit a regular jack under my car.

Here's what my lugs look like.

Anyone know where I can get some? I don't want to have to buy another set of lugs.

I've had my car stolen just for the wheels. I choose not to put locks on, because i'd rather have them take my wheels than my whole car.

I had my first rims (evar) stolen back in '96 in Naval Station San Diego. It can happen to anyone, anywhere. Sad but true.Theft happens, so keep that in mind.

They came with my wheels, the guy threw them in for like $40. He said he paid over $100. He needed the money.

you may be better of selling those lugs (anything over $40 puts you up) and getting some with the "key" style locks that come with the good quality Lugs like project MU or something.

If you think locks are or have stopped theives in the past, your sadly mistaken. There are turbo sockets made to remove lug locks. And there is a tool for anything. If someone wants them bad enough, then locks arent gonna stop them.

true... my parts car came with a lock on each tire and i was pissed because he didnt have any adapter. so after a couple combinations with some deep well sockets and a bfh, the wheels were off. it wasnt the easiest thing but its definatly not a theft proof item.

Just get 4 keyed lugs to add to your rainbow ones and deal with it or whatever.

If they want them that bad they will take em, but you might as well make it difficult.

keep in mind it doesn't matter if your car is so low no jack will fit under it, thieves just simply remove lugs and roll/kick the car to remove wheel.

Rays lug nuts come with an extra 4 locks that are seven sided instead of six. I don't like how they look so I keep them off. I have a driveway where my car is surrounded by cars, well lit, motion sensed and a neighbor with a rotweiler. I walk to one job and at the other job, it's a high security international trade zone or something. My GF's house has a 2 car garage that her parents urge me to park in. Downtown roads are f*** up enough that I can't drive on them with my car so there's no way in hell that I drive through the "hood."

The moral is: Don't leave your car in sketchy areas.

It's also a great excuse to unnecessarily lower your car so much that you can't fit a jack under the car.

Use all the same lugs you have.

They all weigh the same and all match. If someone wants to really steal your wheels let them. Unless you see them and you proceed to beat their a** or stop them.

Sometimes if you make it hard for them they will get pissed off and fudge your car up even worse, like break all the windows and s*** just because they could not get the wheels off.

I only speak from experience though.

Whatever you do! never keep anything you DON'T need in your car.

Good luck bro!

ha good point ghast. i actually done that myself with the parts car i mentioned above. half the reason i bought the car was for the wheels and then to discover the locking nut. i beat the piss out of my perfect fender out of anger when i couldnt get the nut out...lol. my dad has all these deep well sockets that i tried after and it was a breeze.

But I need my car! Meh. Every lug on my wheels is a TIGHT tolerance lock nut and and I made sure there wasn't a socket that could possibly get a grip on them. (I shaved at least 2mm of metal from the key to just get it to fit in the rim. Expensive but worth it. Nightmare if I loose the lug key....
