anyone ever had the thought to take a couple used T25's and add them?

Has anyone on here had the thought to buy a couple T25's off of a couple Mitsu guys upgrading their stock turbos and doing a bit of custom piping for the J?

Or would the Stock J30 ECU and injectors make the gain pretty much unnoticable due to boost limitations? I think the ECU is reprogramable since a while back someone was offering upgrade chips on here for the J, so it could be adjusted. That would take care of a lot of the clearance problems and such with the complete swap since the motor never gets removed.

Just one of those up way too early in the morning thoughts coming with having a Spyder, a J, and creativity.

That would be jim wolf technologies that offers the PROM for our cars. If you want to do something like that, just call them up or email them and tell them the set up you are planning to do. Now here is the question, are you keeping the internals of the block stock or upgrading? If you don't upgrade, you might not be able to produce as much boost as would the VG30-DETT. In other words, if you want to do this, might as well do a VG30-DETT swap like this other guy did here in the forum.

oh by the way, its 95-j30tt that di the swap. If you want to see how he did it, the title of the thread is "she is done, well almost:)". Its on the second page in the forum, and he was suppose to post up a vid of the car up and running but so far he hasn't been online for a while now. Beside that, check out the swap, its well worth it for the creative mind.

Yeah, I've seen that and a few other guys that have attempted the swap. I've just seen the issues they've ran into with mounts needing relocated and such. And I've researched buying used VG30DETT's and they range from $1100 up. So i've dont my homework a little on the complete swap.

Yeah JWT makes a chip and does custom programming workfor some $$$. But there was a NICO member that was making chips far cheaper than what JWT sold them for. I remember somewhere around $150, I just dont know what happened with that.

I know I wont get probably as much as I would doing the whole swap, but my goal would be 275hp for about $1000 or less. Dont know if I can do it or not but might be a long shot for those looking to get a bit of extra umph out of their aging J's without breaking the bank.

I doubt $1,000 would even scratch the surface. Plus, once you get bit by the boost bug, there is NO end. Addictive like crack.

If I got back into my old Mitsu forums and did a bit of negotiating I could get the T25's dirt cheap. But then I'd get into custom piping, flanges, oil lines, fittings, ecu, fuel pump and such. So yeah $1000 might be a stretch.

But a guy with two kids and a wife that would shoot my vehicle idea down in a heartbeat if I ever mentioned it to her can dream occasionally. lol

And I'm with you on the boost bug. I get giddy at the sound of someone elses whine and BOV, let lone if it was my own car.

The sound is one thing, (which I also love) but the "Hand-of-God" feel is even more addictive. It just feels like there is a magical force pushing you down the road.

a VH45DE swap would probably be easier and youd probably enjoy it than the boosted V6.

Stock twin turbo makes as much power as a stock VH45DE. Remember these cars came stock with a VH in japan.

Yeah either one would be nice, but I told my wife about my conversation and I got the look of death and "you know you dont need that" .

So like I said a married guy can dream. lol

If your looking for a little more horse to a nos kit wet or dry and make it so it goes with rpm and not a str8 shot. do a 50 shot it will give the HP and little in cost.
