John:

If you haven't already downloaded the FSM, here it is, http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q4...0_Q45/.

Review the section on codes and follow the manual to isolate the problem.

Good luck.

I have to wonder what that will do to cure the problem as to why it was low? Did you also add the appropriate amount of lubricant? Evacuate and replace drier?

Was that response really called for? Tough to be a beggar and chooser all in one, and expect to recieve much help around here.

Brians comment actually was helpful, if you understand a/c systems and want a correct diagnosis and repair- many shortcuts taken in the a/c business,as it is very profitable for many shops to make a quick buck with a set of gauges and a cylinder of refrigerant.....$50 for 5 minutes and send em on their way- see the signs popping up at every corner gas station this week as the weather gets hot- everyone looking for the cheap quick fix.

thanks i didnt know i was beggin, im not worried too much about my a/c, otherwise i wouldve put that in the title. the whole a/c procedure took about 45min. plus added the dye at the end. again i was asking what would cause the p0500 code. i merely wanted to state what the last most recent things done with the car as i got the code a week after this work was done. maybe if i go spend some money on a new compressor, evap, piping, and condensor i might fix my p0500 code. i dont want to sound like im going the cheap route.

Follow the diagnostic procedures in the factory service manual handed to you in the above link, or take it to the Infiniti dealer for a check-up. Knock sensor code will require quite a bit of labor to properly get to the sensors, and about 300 in parts alone to fix.

Obviously not interested in repairing malfunctions, only superficially treating symptoms.

Good luck!
