I took off my primary one (turbo setup) and left the 2nd one for safety. Honestly, it'll probably throw an o2 code. It's pretty sensitive.

Basically what I got told was that our stock cats, the ones on the manifolds are high flow already and it would be pointless to change them out until someone makes a complete bolt on set like racingline sells for the 02-06 altimas. Get rid of the 3rd cat definitely though.

Check into getting your car tuned for a 93 octane tune. Ive heard good things about bullydog but nothing is better than getting a custom tune. I have a buddy who owns a G35 with a full exhaust and intake tuned with this software and he got really good results. Around 30 horsepower gain to the rear wheels so Im guessing with the right setup one could easily see the same results on our car since the engines are basically the same.

You will really see good results with a tune having the racingline y pipe since the stock ecu takes into acount the 3rd cat etc. Plus they can tune the ecu to take into account the aftermarket intake where the stock tune really just adjust to the new intake, doesnt add extra fuel for the extra or better airflow.

We just finished up some HFC precats for the 02-06 altimas and saw great results. I will be looking into the 07+ in the coming months with hopefully having something ready for new year. Sooner would be nice but we'll see how testing goes.

i went to get the uprev tune but when i talked to the mechanic he told me bc i had the cvt transmission i would only see a gain of 5-7hp otherwise i would have done that. could he be wrong? i heard good things about it and when he told me that i couldnt believe it

Honestly Ive never heard anything like that, but he could be right? Id ask around for people that have done tuning to their cvt's and see what they have to say. I have a manual and the G35 Im talking about also has a manual so I wouldnt know. Its the same thing with turbo cvt's though, people always say they dont feel a huge increase in power compared to a manual or that they can never get a exact dyno figure because of it not having a specific gear but Id go for it and see. Even the torque and throttle response would be worth it in my opinion. Im waiting to get the racingline y-pipe before I get the tune. When racingline does come out the the hfc precats Ill definitely be interested in getting a set. Ive heard good stuff about them on the 02-06 altimas. But I do know that there are some people out there now that have cvt tuning, kind of just like the haldrex controller for audi and vw transmissions. Custom shift points and pressure for drive mode and different things that you can do with the sport shift. I dont know anything more about it than what I read though. So Id say just look into it a little more. Plenty of people have done alot of things with cvt's on here, but from what I know they never really had good results without staying non-turbo.

Sounds cool, although when are your traction rods going to be released? I really need some. ;)
