The car was dangerous in its first iteration. Blame Greedy GM for leaving out the swaybar and counting on whacked out tire pressures to keep the car on the road. That's bad practice. Don't kill the messenger.

I blame GM for the slimy tactics used against him.

I blame him for blaming GM specifically for a suspension design that was in use worldwide among several manufacturers.

Exactly. I would also blame the media as the truth about Nader getting it wrong, seemed to be a far less compelling story than the "evil GM empire" getting caught going after the little guy.

Jesda - On a completely unrelated note, I have been offered an opportunity to purchase a newer gently-used enthusiast-owned Elise from a friend for a significantly under-market price.

I don't think I'm going to pursue it, and I know this thread is OLD, but I can certainly connect you with the seller (NorCal area).

the biggest upside I see of Jesda buying an Elise is a video of him attempting exit one without assistance. It would break the internet. FWIW I've always made it a point to to make sure no one was pointing a phone at me when i opened the door. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's why I'm passing on it. Hip mobility at 54 is probably not Elise-friendly.
