I'm trying to buy a motor from http://www.rimsandthings.com and all I need from them is some pictures of the engine. They keep promising them to me, telling me they've taken then, sent then, but I just must of not gotten them kinda stuff. The engine I'm getting is a AWD CA18DET w/ an automatic transmission....but supposidly they got a manual transmission and clutch/flywheel from some guy who bought an AWD CA18det with manual transmission...allI want is some freakin pics! Then I will send the money...it seemsl ike I'm asking for something really big though.... its been over a month since I've been promised pics... anyway, I'm done venting...responces please!

Ehhhh...stay away. Alot of their stuff is junk. I've been to their "shop" before, it's mostly a small warehouse with random junk like skyline doors and trunk lids, piles of random dirty JDM seats, dirty clips and motorsets, and sets of used wheels (which is the best thing they have). A few years ago when a buddy and I went to check them out they had some odd clips.......RWD CA18DE, RB20DE, etc. We speculated they get random "grab bag" containers from Venus Auto or something. WTF are they gonna do with heaps of skyline doors and tail lights in BFE South Carolina?? I guess if you got a killer deal on something...and were planning a full rebuild....and arent expecting them to send you replacement parts (ex. "hey...my motorset was missing the A/C compressor and alternator....please send me a replacement"). I dunno....buyer beware.

Thanks for your responce, I didn't pay them with paypal, I paid with a CC over the phone, so if they fock me then atleast I have recourse. It looks like its missing the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler, but I should be able to pick one of those up cheap. Other than that, I just need a MAF and I have the stock ECU for the CA18DET, I just hope they dont try to send me a RWD ECU. Wish me luck....I'm feeling kind of stupid though, everything told me no to buy the motor, I see a long wait before it gets shipped....and an even longer wait untill it gets in the car...eeeeeeeek..

surprise...surprise...once they get my money...no responce to emails or phone calls. I'll give it anouther day, then if no responce, then I'll start the proceedings with my CC company.

Did you have a bad expierence with them or something? I am having some problems with them lying to me about it being shipped and such. I'm sure I'll have to throw a rebulid on the motor...I would like to just get it in the car and see how it fits! The only real reason I bought it from them is no one elce had an AWD CA18DET with a manual transmission.

They get all their motors and parts from junk yard and damaged cars. A friend of mine bought a 20 valve motor from them for his ae86 and the motor was junk. Tons of missing parts and sensors.

If you had told me you were going to do a FWD project or at least just needed an engine that didn't need an immediate rebuild, I could've definitely assisted you. But you're talking about AWD and though doing it to a sentra is not impossible, (In my honest opinion) it's not worth the headache. In order to get this engine to really wake the phuck up, you're going to need accessories not mysteries and the AWD transmission is mystery to me that I want no part of. But again, we'll help you as much as we can........
