Ok i've had my ka-t setup for a while now and i rarely drive it because i always smell horrible after driving it. I currently have a pretty basic setup with rc 550cc injectors, z32 mafs etc. even tonight for example i started it just because i haven't driven it in a while and drove it for maybe 20 minutes and i smell horrible afterwards. according ot my wideband i'm at about 14-15 while cruising. i didn't even get into boost more than twice.
I'm running no catalytic converter currently. I'm wondering if that has that much of an effect? Or do most of you guys' setups make you smell horrible after driving it?
I know this is a stupid question. The car starts up idles perfect i don't foul plugs or anything like that so i figured i'd post up and ask.

There are few things that you can try and check... First thing I would check for is exhaust leak. You might not hear them but there can still be some leaks. Check if you have big holes in your fire wall that need to be covered up. Where is your wastegate routed too? if its dumping out to atmosphere it might be throwing a lot of fumes (in boost when the wastegate opens) in the engine bay and getting through your car. You might want to route it back into the downpipe. I would never do it lol, but its the best way to get the exhaust fumes away from the front of the car.

I had that problem in one of my 240's that had a 1jz in it. I had a tial 44m dumping straight down, and my car was really rich when i got into boost and the wastegate opened it was pretty bad.

Also make sure you don't have any fuel leaks any were to, just in case. :)

My exhaust is all one piece only part there would be aleak would be right off of the turbo. i had the exhaust made at an exhaust shop and it's all straight back and have my wastegate dumping back into the exhaust. My BOV is even recirculated as well. I know that i do for sure have a decent sized hole in my driver floor that i cut the rust out and just need to get around to having this guy weld it. that could be it i suppose now that i think about it.
I'll probably get that welded soon. I like driving the car but i can't be driving it to work and stuff smelling like a cracked out mechanic or something. even though i do work on car electronics. I just don't want to be that smelly guy or have to carry around cologne with me everytime i drive my 240.
Like last summer i would have to change clothes when i got back from the track because i'd smell so bad.

I removed all my emissions, minus a high flow cat, and my exhaust stinks only if you stand behind it, but it never sticks on me.
Weird..
