Not a fan of it. Looks like to me the car was wrecked and have been repainted. The same thing I should say about those who love to have a flat trunk lid by removing all icons.

Mine came from the factory with the curved stripe that follows thecurved window line, (at least it was already on there when I boughtit)...it also has the same stripe accenting the two sculptured indentions inthe hood.....you can see a larger pictures in the following gallery posting:

Mine came with pinstripes off-the-lot. I like them. My pics are at zerothread/324832 about 2/3 down.

Nissan does not put the pinstripes on, a detailer at the dealer does and usually its at the request of a customer. It costs just a few dollars for materials , the skill on the other hand in an art....trust me I used to be that detailer so whatever floats your boat I guess.

It does float my boat, which is why I started this topic.... but thanks for your two cents. As said before, everyone has different opinions...

...ok, I'm gonna go out on a limb here.....I'm quite confident that yourboat floats in ways that we wouldn't care for either....quid pro quo....as long as you like it thats what counts!

i kind of agree also.. but i also think it depends on the car color and pinstripe colorI kind of also think the door moldings can look dated if not done right.Take a look at all the newest model cars.. most (not all) do not have door moldings anymore. Exactly why, i do not really know, other than thats what i have observed.

Although i do think mistergib's molding's in the pic in this thread do look very nice

anyone remember T-Tops? now thats dated!

...thanks for the comp...I guess...

If you live in a city the size of Denver, side mouldings are a must! If you could guarantee me that I would get no door dings, I probably wouldn't have them....but, no matter how safe you park, somebody's just gottapark beside ya...and alot of people don't give a crap! No matter how good or bad my side mouldings look, they look so muchbetter than door dings...ya can't argue that point. Thats why I also puton the protective, black fender well mouldings. (they are hard to see inthe pictures, but they are there)

Also, there are still alot of new, very expensive cars that come from thefactory with protective side mouldings....makes it kinda hard to call themdated?? I also think if a pin stripe is done right, as there are many ways to do themwrong, that they can look good enough not to detract from the overall look of the car.

So much for my opinions....

Yes, I dig it. That's why we bought the showroom model that already had the dealer's detailer touch.

It's kind of a fade & I could care less what others think. I like it.

To those of you that have pinstripes now:Are they painted on or sticker stripes? I'm trying to decide which way to go (AND where the best place to get them would be!).

Thx!

funny (not really) story about the pinstripes. When I got my rogue, i first looked @ the versa, and the model that they showed me (gray SL 5-door + everything) had the pinstriped and the door things. It was listed on the sticker as a $400 option. I fought the dealer for that... $400 on something as useless as a bloody pinstripe? Like I wouldn't mind keeping it on the car, I just dont want to pay for it. Long story short, he took off $500 (among other haggled I brought the price down from just shy of $18k to $16.5k).

So after I said "before I sign, I wanna look at the rogue" , and of course the dealer made his best effort to find me one w/o the stripes because he knows I'd fight him.
