I was thinking today how glad I am I bought my A/C over the G37.

I realize that the G37 is an animal if we are considering the total car and is quite a bit more of a sports car, but I think Infiniti failed with it's visual design.

The mark of any great piece of art is the increase of appreciation the moreyou see it. I thought the G37 was great at first but the more I see one the less I like it. It starts to look like a bankers lexus and not a enthusiasts sport car.

The A/C I like more and more the more I see it.

I still think Infiniti hit one out of the park though with the G35. If theystill made them new I probably woulda taken one of those home. But since they don't and my A/C will beat one stock....I'm happy.

I just keep thinking in the back of my mind...man I wish I got a G37, butthen when I see one......I'm glad I got the Nissan.

The G37 design is boring.

I love the g37's design. on my 1080p 52" screen in grand turismo 5, it look STUNNING and I handles like it's on rails!

I love it in black. the AWD model thats comming out is going to be the best car ever. it's like a cheap gt-r

I like the way every line flows and seems to have purpose on the g; no cheap, tacked on design cliches. I would have gotten one after my first a/c was totaled but i didnt fit right in it. The a/c, to me has more leg spread room; the g37 the only way to sit is straight ahead forward(great, i geuss, for race car). Also my new a/c is fully loaded below price of entry g. However is was fun on the test drive to accelerate full throttle and have no torque steer at all because of the rwd layout. The g, to me, is the best looking coupe(with-in reason) on the market. Still glad I got the A/C also.

i raced one with my 3.5SE CVT altima coupe and i have exhaust and no 3rd cat so pretty much the Y-pipe everyone is talking about and it still took me. wasn't waaaaaaaaaay faster but it pulled ahead a little bit. the G37 is a nicer/better car no doubt but the real question, is it $10,000 BETTER then the 3.5se altima coupe?

For the 5 grand premium I hope it's faster and sounds better...I like my A/C very much. I love modifying it. I'm pretty sure the sound is a toss up now with my cat-backs. The point wasnt speed or sound i think it was visual. My goddness it's an INFINITY; Nissan's premium brand. A Maybach and a S-class Mercedes has similarities but guess which one's the daddy.

I love the my A/C but I do Like the G too. The A/C is more of a rugged sports coupe while the G is more of the Luxury Sports coupe. They are #1 and #2 in my book.

Money out of the picture - i would have bought a G37 hands down. No comparison. Interior takes it to a whole new level, the body lines are sleek, sexy, and sporty, the thing is a damn piece of art...

Then again, to get all that I have in my coupe would have costed me $45k....I didn't have the extra $13k to put into a new car....but if i did, there would be another infinti in the garage at home...

if i had a coupe more stripes i would have bought the g but i bought the altima because i would rather buy that new than a used g35 for the same price.

My wife loves the A/C and I love the G. When it came time to get another car I chose the G. From a design standpoint I am still finding interesting body lines I have not noticed before. Coming from a Maxima to the G the body lines are pure sex (my wife is jealous).

It's not for everyone but was for me

Actually, since the G weighs in like a mini SUV, its really not that much faster... when I'm older, if I were older, and was done modding, I would have taken the G37 in a heartbeat.. no question about it... IDK, I think the G37 and A/C share a few of the same cues, like a mesh between the g35 and the G37... not getting into the handling (which is far superior in the G), and just going on sex appeal, I still give it to the G... IMO, the G looks good from every angle.. HOWEVER, I have never 100% liked the straight on side profile of the A/C... the G35 trunk and rear bumper was a straight line = sexy, the A/C trunk and bumer form like a 150 degree angle rather than a 180 degree angle.. takes away from it... howevr, if you turn the A/C ever so slightly towards or away from you, then its 100% sex again... something I always noticed...

so, for me, sex appeal, stock for stock. I give it to the G37

I actually had a $1000 deposit on a loaded G37 in August of 07 and fully intended on getting one. During the wait for delievery I tried out a fully loaded A/C and thought it was an awesome design and of high enough quality that I found it hard to justify the price differance. I shaved the emblems, tinted the windows and put 18" chrome Murano rims on my baby and it took it over to the Infiniti dealer to get my money back. His eyes popped out as he walked around the A/C and wondered aloud why Nissan was completeing against itself! I just took back the check and was satisfied that I made the right decision, and a year later I still am satisfied.

I think the G37 could have been designed better.

Less weight and a better looking rear end. That little chrome lip on the non-S models makes me want to yack!

I do love the front end and the lines on the way back though. Where the G35 is somewhat bubbly up front and flat on the sides, the G37 is sleek.

The back of the G37 and A/C are what really say no to me. The A/C looks like when you layer a cake and then cut out a piece at an angle and see layers (the tail lights).

A/C rear lights fail and to me throws the car off balance. The G37 flows beautifully.

that's funny, most folks feel the rear is the best aspect of the A/C...

The Altima Coupe doesn't flow in my opinion, it looks like a squished up G35. However, when it's dropped, wheels, and a full bodykit it looks a lot better. Don't forget the Altima Coupe is FWD compared to the G's RWD. Don't take me the wrong way I love the Altima Coupe, because looks are solely on opinion. The Altima Coupe is more economy/passenger than it is sports car IMO.

One of the above posters are right I believe though, the Altima Coupe is one of those cars you don't feel bad modding. It's a great car just not in the same class as the G37 however.

The rear is the most unique part of the AC. The front is clearly altima (although u can see styling elements of other nissans including the G) the sides show 350Z and G styling - the rear had to be unique or else....

The overall silouhette is similiar to the G35C - but nissan changed the rear window, tailight and lcense plate cut to visually create some difference from the infiniti rear end.

Fullviet,The reason the Altima looks a little squished is because the front wheels are further back - closer to the doors than on the Infiniti - the AC has a shorter wheelbase. The relatively high ride height Magnifies the effect. I think the front wheel position is primarily a byproduct of the functional need for the front axle to be the drive axle.

Otherwise the AC and G have about the same exterior dimensions (At least on the G35 coupe - I dont think the G37 strayed much from the original in terms of exterior dimensions).

I fixed them, they're BIG pics. The problem was you were using the photobucket url of the page, not the actual url of the image (jpg). Right click, scroll down to properties, then highlight the url of the jpg, gif or bmp.

I think those rims make the altima look kinda mustangish Probably the chrome and tall sidewalls.

I agree, doesn't do the A/C justice IMO
